witness an honest and fair teat of one of their Phecuix
Sates. 'The furnace being prepared; Lie Safe was placed
inside thereof, with books, papers anffsome money; when
the door of the Safe was closed and the fire kindled at a
quarter past 2 o'clock, and in a short time the Safe was
red lot, and coatinued till halfpastfi o'clock, being about
.four and a half hours, when the committee expressed
their satisfaction that the time occupied with such heat_
was sufficient.; The furnace was theta pulled dawn, Safe
'cooled and door opened—the books, papers and money
safe. The heat was so' great as to melt or the brass
mountings. : . Nye therefore take pleasure in recommend
ing these Safes to the public, us being, In our judgment;
