and Masonry of the following described sections of this
road—the sections averaging a mile in length—com
mencing in the town of Cumberland: Sections 1,2, 0,7,
Sand TO, will be let, embracing considerable rock work
-along the Potomac river bluffs, and the masonry of sev
eral bridges on section Ist Also, all the sections from
20 to 45. inclusive, (excepting sections 43 and 44,) beg In
iting SIS miles front Cumberland, about a mile below die
mouth of Savage river, and terminating at the summit of
the mountain. The works upon these sections is heavy,
containing much rock excavations and two tunnels,
each about 800 feet in length, and a stone bridge of con
sjderabfe size. The whole number of sections now to
be.let is 30. In the course of the spring find summer up
wards of 30 more heavy sections will be put under con
tract between Cumberland and Three Forks creek. The
remaining sections betweenthose points,and other work
beyond the hitter will be let in the springot 1800.
Specifications of t the work on the 20 sections to be let,
will be ready by the 20th of March current. They will
