The Allegheny andltlonorigabela rivers were both
closed above, yesterday; and of course the packets
to BroWnsville and Franklin were stopped. The
Allegheny looked much like closing up between the
tiro citiea last evening. •
. The weather moderated considerably yesterday
afternoon, and from the appearances, the weather
wise predicted a fine fall of snow. We hope they
may be true prophets, for business will brighten up
again as soon as the sleds and sleighs get to running.
The Ohio boats.are laying up for the,season.
