We visited the principal houses of the city, but all reported, "nothing doing"'—words which we hate to hear. The prices of many articles were unsettled, and we found it difficult to itatluce dealers to give quotntions. During the week, thitigs may be so artunr„ed that business will pro ceed regularly, though the loss of the Aqueduct will be seriously Telt. The only remedy will he in placing tow boats upon the Allegheny, which will run the goods down and up with ,a slight additional expense. Keel boats can be loaded on the Monongahela and towed " round, and thus the cost of drayage will be 'saved., By a notice in another column, it will be seen that the work of re-building the Aqueduct will be commenced soon, and prolecuted with vigor.
