to improve some.

Apples—Market nearly hare; sales at wharfat $2,50
for &tweets ; ordinary qualities are worth 53. •
Dried Apples:—Sales from store at 70080 e.
Wheat—Sates yesterday at9oc . .
- Flour—The news by the steamer mid - cued the price
very ninth. We heard of sales yesierditini as high as
81.65; but the common price was $4.62. We heard of
no sates at a lower rate for good.bmnds. Au immense
quantity arrived. as may be seen by. our river imPorts.
in addition to the lots by steamboats, great quantities ar
rives) on flats and keels. Alost of the receipts were for
shipment, We saw but few wagon loads on the streets,
find heard of but one sale of 14 Ibis. at $1,62, first rate
brands,
Maey dealers still hesitate in making purchases at the
present rates. They have no confidence . in the perma
nency of the advance announced hi Europe, and think
that the market in this country will not be influenced
greatly by it.. The future state of the market cannot be
predicted.
' Cotton—Some receipts yesterday; but we heard of
no sales. We are instructed to report no change.
Feathers—Several sales yesterday at 31e. Receipt:
fair; demand active.,.
Pea Nuts Sales at $.2:0002,12 from store.
Oranges—Regular sales of Sweet at $5,00; market
not well supplied. .
Bran—Sales from-store at 121 c.; from first hands 15c.
