HOGS—A large lot offered. Sales to butchers
on private terms, generally at 46-lic. nett.
GROCERIES—We notice no change. Regular
sales at yesterday's quotations.
DIAXOXI3 Maiterr.—The old Diamond market
was rather poorly supplied last evening, owing to
the bad.roads, which prevented our country friends
from attending. Prices were unusually light.—
Fowls were readily pin ked up at any price, by
those who are fond of good living about merry
christmas." Fresh print butter was held at Ibi
an:2oc. sp,
LOUISVILLE SIARKET—Noy. 29
Flour—The market is quite firm, and we heard
of a sale -of 200 bbls. from city mills at $4,95.
The price at store is somewhat higher than this
figure, we quote at $.1,9t at 95 for good sized lots,
$5,00195,25 by the dray load and single I hi.
Molasses—We hear-of no transactions, but quote
et 21ia2.8c. as the nominal value.
Sugar—Ranges at ladc., according to quality
Bagging and flope--Considerable quantities of
these articles are received and shipped every day.
but we can hear of no transactions worthy of
note. Holders refuse to give way to the wishes
of persons "rho would purchase at a lower figure,
but will not trust at the present nominal prices,
which are l c. for former and.fi-Yilic. for Inner.
Tobacco—The sales are extremely„ light, and'
figures low. Three hhds . were sold at the Plant
er's House to day at $5,10 fort hhd. first rate, and ;
$4,50 and 44 80 for 2 hhds. second rate. At Todd s ;
were sold six hhds, all third rate, at $2,00, $2,25,'
$2,85, PAO, $3,00, and $3,15.
Hogs—The weather is most excellent for slaugh-I
tering purpOses, and indeed that is all that is doing.'
We cannot hear of any sales, nor can we give any I
nominal quotations. We think-, however, from
all that we can gather, that the price will be es-'
tablished ere long at a price which will nut vary
much from $3.
Lard—We heard of a light sale of new at Gic.
Whiskey—Sales of raw were effected at 'Sic.;
rectified is held at ISc. - •
Buckwheat flour is halls at $3,50 100 111 s. at

Hogs—During Friday quite a number of sales

reported until.Saturilay. The particulars were as
follows : 206 and 120 ay. wt. WO to 200 lbs , at
$3,16; 600, 400, 300 and 76 do. same averages, at
$3,20. Ou Saturday no sales transpired. The
little improvement of the previous day rendered
holders still more firm, while most buyers roused
to bid of a pig over $3. The Kentucky drovers
holding large lots, are we understand, buying the
small droves as far as practicable, with a view
in withholding them from the 'general market, and
contrive to - pack largely om their account. 'l•he
sales however, are not ofithat character. The
pens are pretty well filled, and they still come in
freely. -

bbls. from store at $5; 180 in two lots, and 300
bbls. at $4,93; 76 do at $4,95.
Hogs—We experienced great difficulty yesterday
in arriving at any thing like a satisfactory opinion
of the market. There were sundry rumors of sales
at full prices, and rime at an advance, several of
which we traced to nonentity in fact. The sales
positively ascertained were 175 head, average
weight 105 lbs, 100 do. average weight 185 lbs.
all at $3. A lot of about 800 head, average weight
200 lbs. or upwards, was offered late in the day at
$4,20, showing that the rumored sales we had been
chasing,'and the numerous offers of $3,25 said to
have been made, were fallucious. There was a
large number of sellers yesterday, but —,
finish the sentence to-morrow, if we can.

Important to Consumptives 1/1...-Strange ! That
so many who are afflicted with a Cough that is
gradually wearing them doWn, and slowly, but
surely stealing them into that 'dreadful disease
Consumption—that disease which cat ries off thou
sands daily, are doing nothing. or what is worse
than nothing, gorging themselves with nostrums.
that are puffed to the skies for ctires they are said
to have effected on some foreign or unknown per.
sons. When they can be puitively cured by using
Dr. Rogers' Compound Syrtiil of Liverwort and
Tar, which still continues to .effect the most Won
derful Cures ever recorded in the annalsof medicine.
A fact which is proved by reference to the vast
number of certificates from ate firs! and most re
spectable citizens. such as DO *Wm. J. Richards,
Judge Wm. Burke, the Wifeiof the Rev. G. W.
Maley, Dr. Hiram Cox, late Itrofessor in Eclectic
Medical College of Cincinuati, and others of this
place. Certificates not only of remarkable cures
of distressing Cough, but Consumption actually
cured, after the Physicians of the highest standing
had given them up to die? If-men of such high
standing will vouch for the grert virtues of this
medicine, we cannot but infer that it is at least all
that' it is represented to be. tt., can be had at D.

rpHOSE who have been deceived with mock pre
". tended Hair preparations,should read the fol.;
lowing statements of respecta ble persons:
Mr. Abraham Vanderheck, of 98 Avenue D, New
York, certifies that his head was entirely bald on ;
the top, and by the use of two 3s. bottles of Jones'
Coral Hair Restorative, he basa good crop of hair,
and will soon have it long; thick, and litxuriant.
Mr. Wm. Jackson, of 89 Liberty et. ' ;Pittsburgh,
certifies: On the 3d of Feb. 1847, that Mr. Thomas
Jacttson's head, on the top, was entirely bald for
fifteen years, and that by ;using two 3s. bottles of
Jones Coral Hair Restorative, the haii is growing
fast, thick and healthy. He expects by 'using this a
little longer to have a better head of hair than he
ever had. HAVE YOU SCURF OR DANDRUFF 1 Mr.
Power, a grocer, on Fulton st., had his hair corn.,
pletely choked up with dandruff, and Joneti , Coral
Hair Restorative entirely and permanently cured it.
Directions ler wing Jones' Coral Hair Restorative:
For forcing the growth of Hair, it is necessary to
cause a slight friction on the scalp, so that the Re- I
storative may enter the pores. This may be done by I
applying it with a n ' oderately hard brush, but it is
not necessary to use these harsh means except in ac
tual cases of baldness. Where the Hair falls off,
turns grey, &c., apply the Restorative with the hand,
or a soft brush. Part the hair in the different places,
so that the restorative may touch the scalp. The
same directions may be used for Dressing, 4.c

and natural, and at the same time.innocent white I
ever saw. I certainly can conscientiously rscom
mend its use to all whose skin requires beautifying."
Price 25 cents a - box. Directions—the best way to
apply Lilly White, is with soft leather or wool—the
former is preferable.
A rise sex or Term roa 25 cerrrs.—White teeth,
Foul breath, healthy Gums'. Yellow and unhealthy
teeth, after being once or twice cleaned with Jones'
Amber Tooth Paste, have the appearance of the
most beautiful ivory, and, at the same time it is so
perfectly innocent and exquisitely fine, that its con
stant daily use is highly adrantageous, even to those
teeth that are in good condition, giving them a beau
tiful polish, and preventing a premature decay.—
Those already decayed it prevents froth becoming
worse—it also fastens such-as is becoming loose '
and by perseverance it will render the foulest teeth
delicately white, and make the breath deliciously
sweet. Price 25 or 371 cents abox. All the above
