Sore Heads, 4 . . r. err.
17,101. JR years ago last August , the capital of France
r was astonished in consequence of a discovery
made by an Italian Chemist. Many deubted—it seem
ed almost an impossibility that any thing made by ' 1
the hands of man, could:hare such singular powers
as that claimed by AN - Toillo VESPniNI for his inven
tion. Many classed him and his invention ail a hum
bug, (and, alas! many foolish persons without trying,
do the same now;) at length, after testing it in the
hospitals, the Medical Society of Paris, (the best
chemists in the world) delivered the following report
to Signor Vesprini: -
" We have now minutely and carefully examined
the singular invention of Vesprini. We have analyz-
ed its compOnent parts—ive have used it in several
cases, and we hesitate not to pronounce it (The
Italian Chemical Soap) as a great blessing, and a
truly wonderful remedy for any cutaneous eruption
or disfigurement of the skin. Its inventor we con
eider the true philanthropist of suffering-mankind.
(Signed) LEOPOLD DUPREY, Pres.,,
Then comes the, report of the "Societe de Mni.
tote," of scientific experiments:
"We are astounded," exclaims the aged president,
"at this singular preparation—Vesprini's Italian
Chemical Soap! Where, indeed, will science stop!
Here we have a preparation made in the form of
beautiful piece of soap, which we know by actual
practice, to cure every cutaneous eruption, every
disfigurementof, and even discolored skin I Where
will its magic and singular power cease t The Ne
gro, the Creole, the
,Yellow Race of the East, and
the Red Man of the Far West, are alike under the in
fluence of its extraordinary powers of clearing yel
low of discolored skin, and make it white and beau
tiful, and of changing the color ofdark , or brook, or
brown skin." (Here se 'oral persons were brought
forward by the president, who had used it, in proof
of his assertions.)

Rheumatism, Gout anti Tic Dolourettx.
' A RESPEC CABLE gentleman called at our office,
±3 as he said, to inform us that he had been .alilic
red for fifteen years with Rheumatism or Gout, nd
occasionally with Tic noloureux; that he had been
frequently confined to his room for months together,
and often ruffered the most intense and excruciating
pain, hut that lately he had been using JAYNE'S
ALTERATIVE,.from which he found the most
sal and urixpected relief. He says he found the
medicine very pleasant and effective and thathe
now considers him-elf perfectly =cl.—Phi/m*4 ,
phia North American.
A FAcr 'Mourn Knownso.—A gentleman of Scro
fulous habit from indiscretion in his younger days,
became affected with Ulcerations in the Throat and
Nose, and a disagreeable and troublesome eruption
of the akin. Indeed, his whole system bore the
marks of being saturated with disease. One hand
and wrist were so much affected that he had lost the
use of the band, every part being covered with deep,
painful and offensive ulcers, and were as hollow and
porus as a honey-comb It was at this stage of his
complaint, when death appeared inevitable from a
loathsome disease, that he commenced the use of
Jaynes Alterative, and having taken six,cen bottles,
is now perfectly cured.
The Alterative operates through the circnlatinn,
and purifies thejdood and eradi ates disease from
the system, wherever located, and th'e nurneious
cures it has performed in diseases of the skin, can
cer, sgorfula, gout, liver complaint, dyspepsia, and
other chronic diseases, is truly astonishing.—Spirit

MORG.42ST S COUGH SYRUP, and if you have
a bad cough, you had better try it and be cured.
Px - rrsannatr. Tan. 7th, 1847. .
Mr. Joint .Moncitat—This may certify that for
several weeks pa•t; I have been afflicted with a se
vere Cough, which prevented me from getting much
rest by night, or laboring with any ease tar ugh the
d-.y time. After trying various remedies, at aa ex.
pease of several dollars, and receiving no benefit
from them, I purchaio cen bottle of MORGAN'S
COUGH - SYRUP for 2.s.cents. Although a week has
not
. t et elapsed, or the Eyrdp more than three-fourths
used up, my cough has entirely subsided and ap
peals to be permanently cured. Should a similar at
tick occur, the first remedy I should make use or
would be Morgan's Cough Syrup, believing it to be
the best remedy I ever made use of for a Cough.
