OFFICE OF THE MORNING, POST, -/
Fare&r MOUNINO, March 5.
The weather yesterday was fine—it was the
most spring like day we have yet been favored
with this season. The merchants and other deal
ers were 'all busy, seemingly, though, of course,
the transactions - were, not as heavy as we shall ex
pect in a few fays. The country merchants are
just beginning to send in their orders; and some
have already arrived for the purpose of making
purchases.l
The rivir is in good order''—last evening at dusk
there were six feet water in the channel.
.
We have no money matter to 7 day; the "truck"
continuesl.-statu quo"—very easy to he had . in
paper of the right stripe ; of which, however, not
much is Offering for the present week. The Leg
islature have renewed the charter of the Alerch
,ants and Nanufacturers Bank, and granted leave
to issue notes to the Farmers Deposite Bank.—
Our Banks not having the means to accommodate
every perbon it was found necessary to establish
another, which is about being done in the Banking
House occupied by the U. S. Bank, our friend
