THURSDAY EVESINO, Feb., 25. 5
The business - cif the past week has been fluctu•
atilii; there is, however, a decided improvement
in all branches since our last weekly report;
Country merchants . are beginning td atrive, and
tinny orders are received from the west by our
dealers, for,,Groceries and Dry Goods, and Pitts
burgh 'Manufactures. The weather has been most
ly unfavorable to out-doottransactions.
The river is in excellent order, and boats are ar
riving and departing daily, with full loads. Pis ,
sezigers tegin to crowd the cabins. The opening
of the. Canal, an event expected to take place in
tin - days or two weeki, (perhaps in Less time) will
give a fresh impulse to business. -!
Money is more easy than last notice. The pro
duce excitement being somewhat "knocked in the
head" by the Steamer, has caused common ' ctir
-rency to show itself a little more, yet it may be
considered, scarce. Rates still keep,. at lj. Speeie
plenty.. 'Exchange on East k Prem.; on New Or.
leans not much sought after. Money plenty at t l

Being affiictedfor some S years with that most
distressing disease. the asthma, and for the last
3 years much of the time confused to my room,
and atr.several different times ''tny . life was des
paired of; I concluded to obtain some of Ma
zoni's Sicilian. Syrup, which was recommended to
me by a friend from Ne%-v York who stated that
it had 'eared some of the most inveterate cases
known to the medical profession. Suffice it to say,
that, after using the above- ffeilicine for about 4
weeks, I was entirely relieved; and I believe radi
cally- cured. Yours with-respect,

JAYNE'S ToNre VERSIIFUGE.—Some medicineswar
ranted to "destroy worms in children," are very
well calculated to destroy the children too. This is
not the case with Jaynes Tonic Ker}nifugc.. It does
not contain a single ingredient which can harm the
most dentate int:or . , and yet it expels worms from
the system with a facility and ceEminty perfectly as
tonishing. Nor is this its only sanative property ;
it is n flue Stomachic, and in remittent and inter
mittent fevers has been mheinistered with the Most I
gratitlying results. Obstinate cases of Piles have
yielded to its influence, and its tonic qualities render
it an excePent 'medicine in the convalescent stage
of all diseases. It is exceedingly pleasant to the
taste.
