toad. . • • • .
The proprietors of this old established line, having
completed their arrangements, are prepared to for
ward goods to.and from the East (on the opening of
the canal navigation,) on as reasonable terms as any
other raslionsible line, and are determined that no
care or attention on their part shall be-wanting to
secure a continuance of that patronage so liberally
bestowed upon them fur several years past.
.The deckled success of the portable boat system,
so manifest in the regularity and despatch experien
ced in the delivery of goods, the absence of all risk
of delay, breakage or other damage, incident to the
old system, where goods have to be hurriedly uun
shipped three times on the way, and the merchanta
ble order in which produce has been •avowedly de
livered by them, has induced the proprietors to in
crease their stock considerably this season. Their
extensive warehouse at each point, (unequalled by
any other line,) affords them faciltieis to conduct their
business with dospatch; and to shippers the conven
ience of free storage, if required, until their arrange
ments are complete—while their long experience in
the carrying trade, it is presumed, will be sufficient
guarantee to their patrons and the public that they
successfully exert themselves to give genera satis

paid, and bills of lading transmitted free of charge

XT, OW made and ready to tie offered on the most
14 liberal terms to my old customers and the pub

extensive establishment has ,now, after returning
fromthe Eastern cities, at much trouble and expense,
just completed his fall and winter arrangements to
supply his thousands of customers with one of the
moat desirable stocks ofelothing that has ever been
offered in this or any other market west of the moon-
Mins. For neatness in style and workmanship, com
bined with the very low price which they will be
sold for mast certainly render the old unrivalled
Three Big Doors one of the greatest attractions of
the western country. It is gratifying to me to be
able to announce to my numerous friends at home
and abroad, that notwithstanding the extraordinary,
efforts which I have made to meet the many calls in
my line, it is with difficulty I can keep time with the
constant rush that is made on this popular establish
menL It is a well established fact, that my sales are
eight or ten times larger than any other house in the
trade, and this being the case on the amount sold, I
can afford to sell at much less profit than others could
possibly think of doing if they wished to cover con
tingent expenses. I intend to make a clean sweep
of all my present stuck before the beginning of next
year; coming to this conclusion, I will make it the
interest of every man, who wants a cheap winter
suit, to call and purchase at the Three Big Doors.

try it on myself. I was taken with a violent cough,
spitting of blood, shortness of breathing, together
with violent attacks of Asthma. I overdone myself
front exertion which I was not able to perform, which
prostrated my system - to a great extent. I com

Dr. Swayne — Dear Sir—Permit me, to tak the lib
erty of writing to you at this rime, to express appro
bation, and recommend to the attention of heads of
families and to o:hcrs your valuable medicine—your
Compound Syrup of Wild Cherry. le my travels of
late,l have seen in a great many instances, the won
derful effects of your medicine in relieving children
very obstivate , complaints, such as coughing,
wheezing, Choking with the phlegm, asthmatic at
tacks, &c. I 'should not have written this letter,
however, at present, although I bare felt it my duty
to add my testimony to it Or sometime, had it not
been for a late instance where- the medicine above
alluded to was inatrumental in teetering to perfect
health on only child ,w hose case was almost hopeless,
in a family, of my acquaintance. I thank heaven
said a doting mother, 'my child is - saved from the
jaws of death' ,
Beyond all doubt, Dr. Swayne's Compound Syrnp
of Wild .Cherry is the most valuable medicine in this
OT any other country.. I am certain I have witnessed
more than one hundred Cases where it has been at
tended with complete success. I hare used it myself
in an obstinate attack of the Bronchitis, in which it
proved effectual in an exceedingly short time, con
sidering' the severity of the case. I eau recommend
it in the -fullest confidence of its superior virtues. I
would advise that no family should he without it; it
is very pleasant; and always beneficial; worth doulle
and often ten times its price. The public are assur
ed there is no quackery about it.

DR. CHRISTIE'S GALVANIC RINGS - AND MAG
NETIC FLUID.
. . .
T HIS remarkable invention, which Ins received
1 (
the universal approbation of the m Ica] profes
sion of Great Britain, comprises an e tyely new ap
plication of Galvanism, as a remedial - gent, by means
of which the ordinary Galvanic Bat cries; Electric
and Magnetic Machines, &c., are, WI ly diepensed
with, and the mysterious power of Gals ism applied
without any of the objections whicirare inseparable
from the general mode now in use. Tttt strong dos
es, and irregular intervals; in which Galvanism is ap
plied by the Machines, has been pronounced, after a
fair and impartial trial„to be decidedly injurious, and
it was to remedy this radical defect that this new ap
plication was projected; which, after unceasing toil,
and perseverance, has been brought:to. its 'present
state ofperfeetion. The Galvanic Rings answer all
the purposes of the most expensive Machines, and
in Many - ether respects are mere safe and certain mill
accomplishing the desired - effect. - .. '
• The Galvanic Rings. used in cormection.with the
Magnetic Fluid, are confidepgly recommended in all
disorders ..whi ch arise fr om aierenteebled and unhealthy
slate of the nervous or- vital system, and these com
plaints aro among the most painful and universal to
which we aro subject. They arise, without exception,
' from one simple cause—a deraisgement of the Nerv. 7
ous-Systetn--and it was in these cases that other
"remedies' having so often failed, a new agent was
greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, haia
been found in the proper and judicious application
of Galvanism.
The Galvanic Rings have been used with entire
success in all cases of RHEUMATISM, acute,or chronic,
applying to the head, face or limbs, Gout, Tic-Dolo
reur' Toothache, Bronchitis, Vertigo,' Nervous Sick
Headache, Indigestion, Paralysis, palsy, .Epilepsy,
Fits, Cramp, Palpitations of the Heart, Apoplexy,
Stiffness of Joints, Spinal Complaints, Lumbago,
Neuralgia, Nervous Tretnors, Dix illness of the Plead,
pain in the Chest and Side,General Debility, Deficien
cy of Nervous and Physical Energy, and alt NERV
OUS DISORDERS. In cases othonfirmed Dyspepsia,
which is simply a nervous derangement of the diges
tive organs, they have been found equally successful.
Their extraordinary 'effects upon the system must be
witnessed to tie believed, and airs certain preventive
for the preceding complaints they are equally recom
mended. The Rings are of different prices, being
made of all sizes, and of various ornament's.] patterns,
tad can be worn by the most delicate female
. without
the slightest inconvenience. In fact, the sensation
is rather agreeable than otherwise. -
The Galvanic, Belts, Bracelets, Bands,
Garters, Necklaces, •&c.
In some cases of a very severe character, and oi l
long standing, the power as applied by the Galvanic'
Rings is not sufficient to arrest the progress ofdisease
and ultimately restore health. The illiproved modi- l
fication in the Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, &c., entife:.
ly remedies this objection; any degree of power that 1
is required can readily be obtained, and no complaint
which the mysterious agent of Galvaniim can effect
will fail to be permanently relieved. These articles
are adapted to the waists, arms, wrists;linubs, ancles, I
or any part of the body, with perfect convenience.
The Galvanic Necklaces arc used with greater beise-
fit in cases of Bronchitis or affections of the throat,
generally; also in cases of Nervous l Deafness; and'
with almost uniform success as a preventive, for Apo
plexy, Epileptic Fits,,and similar - complaint& , ~..
Cliristie's Magnetic Fluid '
is used in connection with the Galvanic Rings and ,
all their modifications. This composition has been
pronounced by:the French Chemists to no one of the
most extraordinary ilisciiveries of modern science. It
is believed to possess the remarkable power of ren
dering the nerves sensitive to galvanic action by this,
means causing a concentration of the influetice,ht - tlit
_seat ofdischse, thasgiVing - rapid and permanent re
lief. No ether composition in chemistry is known to
produce the same effect, or to impirt a similar pro
perty
to the nervous system, by means of an outward
local application. The Magnetics-Fluid contains noth
ing capable of the slightest injury; its application is
agreeable, and it is as harmless in its action as it is
beneficial in its results. Full explanations and direc
tions accompany it. The combined inventions are in
every way perfectly harrelesskthey are sold at prices
within th,emach of all and the discoverer only re
quests a fair trial as a test of their surprising efficacy
and benefit.
Christio's Galvanic Strengthening Plas
ters. .
These articles form another valuable application
of the mysterious influence of Galvanism. They are
an irnportant'adjunet to the genuine Galvanic Rings
and their modifications, ;toting upon the same princi
ple, but having the advantage of more local applica
tion. They, are confidently recommended as a valu
able addition in the speedy cure ofltlrcumatism i acute
or chronic; in all nervous complaints, and as a posi
tive remedy in cases of Pain and Weakness in the
Chest or Back, Pain in the Side, in Asmatic Affections,
and in Weakness or Oppression of the Pulmonary Or
gans..ln Spinal Complaints their effects are of the
most decided character,' and they have often been
used with complete success. They are also of the
greatest advantage in Pains and Weakness of the '
Breast, and are highly recemmended for many of those
complaints to which females are especially liable. As
an effectual means for strengthening the system when
debilitated with disease or other causes; as a certain
aid in Constitutional Weakness, as a Preventive of
Colds, and in all affections of the Chest, generally,
the Galvanic Strengthening Plaster will be found 01
great and permanent advantage. In a few words; it
embraces all the virtues of the best tonic preparation,
with the important addition of the galvanic influence,
which is neither impaired nor exhausted, while the
action continues. These articles will befound entire
ly free from those objections which ape a constant
source ; of complaint with the erdiaarf plasters in
common use:

CERTIFICATES AND TESTIMONIALS,
Of the highest and most respectable character, are
constantly received, regardlng. the extraordinary
value and success of the above articles. It is believ
ed that in the city of New York alone, upwards of
EIGHT THOFSAND PERSONS during a period of
less than a year, have been entirely relieved of the
most painful. chronic disOiders, some of which have
completely balled all former efforts of medical art.,
indeed many of the first physicians of this city, who
disapprove of the Galvanic and Magnetie_MaChine,
constantly recommend this application in their prac
tice, and with the exception of those who are too
prejudiced to give it a trial, the invention has re
ceived unanimous favor with the most intelligent
among the American Faculty. Dr. Christie is at all
times ready and most happy to give every facility to
physicians, and all interested, for testing the tint:llin

made by an Italian Chemist. Many doubted—it seem- '
ed almost, an impossibility that any thing made by
ashands of man, could have such singular powers
'as that claimed. by Arerosio Yeseairt: for, his invert-
lion. Many classed him and his invention as. a.bum
bug, (and, alas! many foolish persona without trying,.
do the same now;) at length, after testing itin.the
hospitals, the Medical Society of Paris, (the beat.
chemists in the world) delivered the following report
to Signor Vesprini :
" We have now minutely and carefully examined
the singular invention of Vesprini. We haveanalys-•

truly wonderful remedy for any cutaneous eruption

Then comes the report of the "SoClete de ',lnsti—

"We are astounded," exclaims the aged president,
"at this singular preparationT-Vesprini 7 s Italian

:Here we have a preparation made in the form of ►
