For support of Cotrunon Schools, $200,000. For
pensions and gratuities, $35,000. House of Refuge,
$1,900. Pennsvania Institute, for the instruction
of the Blind, $9,000. For instruction of indigent
pupils in the Pennsylvania Institute for the Deaf
and 1)umb,$11,000. For the Eastern Penitentiary.
$8.002. Fur. the.- Western Penitentiary. $41,000.
These are some of the principal appropriations in
the bill.
There was , but little done in the Senate. The
Comrcilttee on Finance reported adversely to the
bill , providing for the expenses of the Volunteers.
The act providing for the election of Prosecu
ting Attorneys passed through first and second
readings. It will become a law this session.—
The election. takes place on the second Tuesday , of
