1.50,000 WELL SELECTED GARMENTS
NOW made and ready to be offered on the most
liberal terms to my old customers and the pub
he in general. The Proprietor of this far famed and
extensive establishment has now, after returning
from the Eastern cities, at much trouble and expense,
just completed his fall ' and winter arrangements to',
supply his thousands of customers with one of the
must desirable stocks ofClothing that has ever been
offered in this or any other niarket west of the moun
tains. For neatness in style and workmanship, com
bined with the very low price which they will be
sold for must certainly render the old unrivalled
Three Big Doors one of the greatest attractions of 1
the western country. It is gratifying to me to be
able to announce to my numerous friends at home;
and abroad, that notwithstanding the extraordinary:
efforts which I have made to meet the many calls in
my line, it iiwith difficulty I can keep time with the 1
constant rush that is made on this popular establiali- I
meat. It is a well established fact, that my sales are
eight or ten times larger than any other house in the
trade, and this being the case on the amount sold, 1
can afford to sell at much less profit than others could
possibly think of doing if they wished to cover con
tingent expenses. I intend to make a clean sweep'
of all my present stock before the beginning of next
year; coming to this conclusion, I will make it the
interest of every man, who wants a cheap winter
suit, to-call and purchase at the Three Big Doors.

Dr. 11. Swayna—Dear Sir—Having seen the "as

try it on myself. I was taken with a-violent cough;
spitting of blood, shortneas of breathing, together
with violent attacks of Asthma. I overdone myself
from exertion which I was not able to perform, which
prostrated my eyetem to a great extent.- I com

which gave me almost immediate re

'may be afflicted in a similar way. am now able to

CINCTNNATI, Feb. 1.5, 1846.
Dr. Swayne—Dear Sir—Permit me to take the lib
erty of writing to yon at this time, to express appro.
bation, and recommend to the attention of heads of
families rind to others your valuable medicine—your
Compound Syrup of Wild• Cherry. In my travels of
late, I have seen in a great many instances, the won
derful effects of your medicine in relieving children
of very obstinate complaints, such as coughing,
wheezing, choking with the phlegm, asthmatid at
tacks, &c. I should not have' written this letter,
however, at present, although I have felt it my duty
to add my testimony to it for some time, lhad it not
been for a late instance where the medicine above
alluded to was instrumental in restoring to perfect
health an only child, is hose case was almost hopeless,
in a Emily of my acquaintance. I thank heaven ' •
said a doting mother, 'my child is saved from the
jaws of death..
Beyond all doubt, Dr.'Swayne's Compound Syrup
of Wild Cherry is the most valuable medicine in this
or any other country. I amcertain I havCwitnessed
more than one hundred cases where it has been at-.
tended with complete success. I have used it myself
in an obstinate attack of the Bronchitis, in which it
proved effectual in an exceedingly short time, con
sidering the severity of the case. I can recommend
it in the fullest confidence of its superior , virtues. I
would advise that no family should be without it; it
is very pleasant, and always beneficial; worth double
and otlen ten times its price. The public) are assur
ed there is no quackery about it.

regret it. It will arrest all those disagreeable symp

prolong your days; beware of all preparations pur

the signature of Dr. H. Swayne, on the outside wrap
per of the bottle as they are quite likely destitute of,

originally made for sale, or with a view to pecuniary
profit; while as every body knows, the greatest tyro

drugs than he casts about fur some cheap prepara

anything that will sell. Often he attempts it under
an assumed or fictitious name. as though.conscious
his own were insufficient to sell it. The difference
then between the Wilson Pill and the preparations a
have just indicated, would appear to be this: The,
consctoutiness of the value of my pill originated
the idea of putting daemon sale for money, and at Ii
price. The consciousness of the value of money
originates in most instances the many preparations
I have alluded to; and the price most likely 'to take'
is always first carefully considered, and the pill or
other preparation made and graduated to suit it. The
one is a DISCOVLSY, and comes from the great Arcane
of Universal Nature; the other a trick or invention,
and conies from a not very popular quality of INDI
VIDUAL Nature. Reader,. the. difference here is
great. In one instance the value attached to the PILL
is the starting point; in the other', the monr.v. But
it is not probable that tome of •the many prepara

clean wheat, they have been "gat up" too high be
fore their specific gravity had been carefully ascer

DR. CHRISTIE'S GALVANIC RINGS AND MAG-
NETIC FLUID.
1111111 S remarkable invention, which has received
the univeraallfpprobation of the medical profes
sion ofGreat Britain, comprises au entirelyjnew
plica.tion,of Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by means
of which the Ordinary Galvanic Batteries, illtietrii
and Magnetic Machines, fkct; are entirelfdispensed
With, and the mysterious power of Galvanism applied
witbeut, any of the objections which's,* inseparable
Itonli the general mode now in use. The strong-dos
es, and irregular intervals, in which Galvanism is ap.
I Plied by the Machines, ims beenpronounced, after a
fair and impartial trial, to be decidedlyinjurious, and
it was to remedy this radical defect that this new ap
plication was projected, which, after unceasing toil,
and'Perseveranee, has been brought to its present
state ofperfection. TIM Galvanic Rings answer all
the purposes of the most expensive Machines,. and
in many other respects are more safe and &lain in
accomplishing the desired effect. • •
The Galvanic Rings used in connection with the
Magnetic Fluid, are confidintly recommended in all
disorders tohiaarliefrom an enfeebled and unhealthy
state of the nervous or vital system, and these com
plaints are among the most' painful and universal to
which we arc subject. They, arise, without exception,
from one simple cause—a derangement of the Nerv
ous System—and it wag in these cases that bther
'remedies' having so elle* failed, a new agent was
greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, has
been found in the proper and- judicious application
of Galvaniim.
-The Galvanic Rings haVe been used witlrentire
success in all cases of ItzlEt7anvest, acute or chronic,
applying to the head, face or limbs, Gou l,
rear, Toothache, Bronchitis, Vertigo, Nervous Sick
Headache, Indigestion, Paralysis, Palsy, Epilepiy,
Fits, Cramp, Palpitations of the Heart, Apoplexy,
Stiffness of Joints,_ Spinal Complaints, Lumbago,
Neuralgia, Nervous Trcnicirsi Dizziness of the Head,
pain in the Cheat and Side, General Debility, Beficien
cy of Nervous and Physical Energy, and all NERV-.
OIJS DISORDERS. In cases ofcontlrmed Dyspepsia,
which is simply a nervous derangement of the diges
tive organs, they have been timed equally successful.
Their extraordinary effeCts upon the system must be
witnessed to be believed, and as a certain preventive
for the preceding, complaints they arc eqbally recom
mended. The Rings are of different prices, being
made of all sizes, and of various ornamental patterns,
and can be worn by the mast delicate female without
the slightest inconvenience. In fact, the sensation
is rather agreeable than otherwise. •
The Galvanic Help,. Bracelets, Dana',
Garters, Necklaces
In some cases of a very severe Character, and of
long standing, the power as applied by the Galvanic
hinge is not sufficient toarrest the progress of disease
and ultimately restore health. The improved moth
ficaGou in the Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, &c., entire
ly remedies this objection; any degree of power that
is required can readily be obtained, and uo complaint,
which the mysterious agent of Galvanism can effect
will fail to be permanently relieved. These articles
are adapted to the waists, arms, wrists, limbs, wicks,
or any part of the body,- with perfect convenience.
The Galvanic Necklaces are used with greater bene
fit in cases of Bronchitis or affections of the throat,
generally; also in cases of Nervous Deafness; and
with almost uniform success as a preventive for Apo
plexy, Epileptic Fits, and similar complaints.
Christie's Magnetic Fluid
is used in connection with the Galvanic Rings and'
all their modifications. This composition has been
pronounced by the French Chemists to tie ono of the
most extraordinary discoveries of modern science. It
is believed to possess the remarkable power of ren
dering the - nerves sensitive to galvanic action by this
means causing u concentration of the influence, at the
sent of disease, thus giving. rapid and permanent re
' lief. No other composition in chemistry is known to
produce the same effect, or to impart a siniilar pro
•perty to the nervous stem, by means of an outward
local application. The Magnetic Fluid contains noth
ing capable of the slightest injury; its application is
agreeable, and it is as harmless in its action as it is
beneficial in its results. Full explanations and direc,
nuns accompany it. The combined inventions are in
every way perfectly harmless; they are sold at prices
within the reach o f all and the discoverer only re
quests a fair trial as a test of their surprising efficacy
and permanent benefit.
Chrtstle's Galvanic Strengthening Pin..
These articles form another valuable application
of the mysterious influence of Galvanism. They are
an important adjunct to the genuine Galvanic Rings
i and their modifications, acting upon the same prisici
i pie, but having the advantage of more local applica•
tion. They arc confidently recommended as a vale
%hit addition in the speedy cure ofßheumatism, acute i
or chronic; in all nervous complaints, and as a posi-
I tire remedy in eases of Pain and Weakness its the
Chest or Bark, Pain in tin% Side,in itsmaticA f fections,
'and in Weakness or Oppression of the Pulmonary Or
gans. In Spinal Complaints their effects are-of the
most decided chatlicter, and they have often been
used with complete success. They are also of the
greatest advantage in Pains, and Weakness of the
Breast, and are highly recommended for many of those
complaints to which females are especially liable. As
an effectual means for streirgtheningthe.system when
debilitated with disease or othereauses; as a certain
nid in Constitutional Weakness, as a Preventive of
Colds, and in all affections of the Chest, generally,
the Galvanic Strengthening Plaster will be found of
great and permanent advantage. In a few words; it
embraces all the of the best tonic preparation,
with the important addition of the galvanic influence,
which is neither impaired nor exhausted, while the
uction continues. These articles will be found entire
ly free from those objections which are a constant
source of complaint with the ordinary plasters in
common use.
CAUTION
iXr. The great celebrity and success Or these arti
cles have caused them to be counterfeited by enprin
cipled persons. To provide'against imposition, Dr.
Cnntrrin has but one authorized agent in each city of
the Union. The only agent in Pittsburgh,
W. W. WILSON.
CERTIFICATES AND TESTIMONIALS,
Of the highest and most respectable character, are
constantly received, regarding the extraordinary
value and success of the above articles: It is believ
ed that in the city of New York alone, upwards of
EIGHT THOUSAND PERSONS during a period at
less than a- year, have been entirely relieved of the
most painful chronic disorders, some of which have
.completely baffled all rormer efforts of medical art.
indeed many of the first physicians of this city, who
disapprove of the Galvanic and Magnetic Machine,

NEVER DESPAIR! YOU CAN BE CURED; •
LAIIIDEATITILLE, June 10, , 1846.
Dr. D..fayne No 8 South Third st., Philadelphia—
Dear Sir: I have this day had an interview With the
gentleman of whom I made mention-to you is hav
ing taken your Expectorant with such decided effect.
Ile is a respectable farmer, living a fevi miles from
here. I was so much interested in a detailed account
he gave me of his 'bough and cure, that I embrace
the first leisure moment to communicate it to yon, ' ,
and, if the cure is as radical as it appears to be, it is
the' most reinarkable - one I have ever knowh. For
32 years (after haring the measles) he has been suf
feting with a cough of, the mtrst distressing kind, get
ting worse as he advanced in years; 1* is now d 5
Prequent:terms of coughing and difficulty of breath-
ing, lasting from an hourto an hour and a half, would
come upon him with such severity as to exhaust him
with -strangling until his, eyes became bloodshot. He
had despaired of being cured having tried physicians
and a thousand things without relief. For nine weeks
immediately previous to taking the Expectorant, he
had not been able to go to his barn although there
was the most urgent necessity for him to do so.
During the nine weeks he was under the care of
to eninent physician, and he finally just getable to
go out, and came to my store, and hearing his cough,
I recommended to him-your Expectorant. Ile-first
said he had tried so many things that linhad.no confi
dence in any thing; but I induced him to take a hottle
by telling him, ot persons of ray acquaintance who
had been decidedly benefitted by it. This was on
Tuesday; that night he took of it, and says that it was
the first comfbrtable night's sleep he had enjoyed foi
years. Outfit Thursday , . following he %volute work,
and has continued to make a full band on his farm
ever since [now neatly two months] He told me
to-day that fbr the last week he had cut and split a
hundred rails, or madb aliindred panels of fence per
day; has been in-the water to wash his sheep, and
otherwise exposed, without the least symptom of a
return of his cough, ifliaving entirely disappeared
and, strangest of 11, ohs-third of a bottlejmas
pro
duced the effect. Ile seems so thankful and over
joyed that he "wants to' talk all day about it," and
says that if she could not. procure another bottle he
would refuse one hundred dollars fur the remainder
of the bottle he had left.
Your Carminatisie Balsam 1 have used or them:D
amned to others for the last ten yearly with the Most
salutary effeck Respectfully
