aiily breast and' side attended with - a harrassing
cough' for more . than -three years during which
time I expectorated large quantities of matter:and_
last spring My - cough became so badtitat One blood
vessel after another gave way in mylungs, which,

was unable to• attend to any business 'whateVet;
and gave up • all hopes' of ever being better.
case-was pronounced hopeless 'and incurable by
physicians and despaired of by every one that knew
my condition:' I was at this time coughing almost
eonstantly, and ' an alarming quantity of
blood from my lungs daily; and such was my de
bilitated condition that I could not walk but a few
steps without becoming exhausted; and no one
who has taken the trouble of acquainting them
selves of my real condition would for a moment
ciansider that it was more hopeful than the worst
cases of consumption generally. I have now tak
eh nearly 3 bottles ofthe truly wonderful Sicilian
Syrup. The bleeding of the-lungs was stopped be
fore I had taken half of the first bottle. ..My cough
has abated, the pain has lett my breast and side,
and my former health arid strength have so far
returned that I am at work every day, and I feel
that lam a new man. And I am satisfied that
consumption may be and has been cured by the
use of Dr. Mazimi's Sicilian Syrup, and I earnestly
recommend all that -sutler as I have done to try
this justly celebrated Syrup without delay, for I do
think it the greatest discovery that ever graced
the medical profession. With the highest consid

much obliged friend. JOHN ROSS.
This is to certify that we, the undersigned, have
been acquainted with John Ross for a number of
years and Cheerfully testify to the correctness of
the statement above made of his case, and we do
consider him a new man compared with what he
*as three - months ago, and confidently accord the
credit-of his cure to the use of the truly celebrated
Sicilian Syrup. Witness our hands and seals this

A bounty of tireirc dollars oil! he paid to each re.
cruit enlisted for the Artillery or 14fruary arm.
Itesides the monthly pay, as shove stated, one ra
timi per dsy is alto., ed every soldier, which is amply
suilicient for his subsistence; also a large supply ofl
comfut table and genteel clothing. Good quarters and
fuel are at all tunes furnished; and every attention
will be pad to making those men who may enlist,'
and are determined to serve their Country in good
COO., comfortable and contented with their situation:
The best medical attendance is always provided for
the sack soldier; and no deduction. of pay - is made
during the period he is unable to perform his duty.'
Should the soldier he disabled in the line of his duty,t
the laws provides a pension fur him.
By the alley(' it is seen that the pay and allowances'
are tesileetable, and that, with prudence and econo:
my, the monthly pay of the soldier may be laid up—
as every thing requisite for his comfort and conven
ience is furnished by the Government, intluding his
sugar and coffee. The prudent soldier, therefore,
may readily save from &LW to $lO2O during his en.
listment of five yens; and at the expiration of the ,
term he can, if he chooses, purchase a small farm;
in any of the western States, and there settle himself;
comfortably, on his own land, for the rest of his life.
. . .
The sum °flit.° dollars will he paid to any errizeN,
non-commissioned officer and soldier, who shall brinx
to the rendezvous an able-bodied recruit, who shalt
be regnlarly enlisted. The citizen should 3 resent
his recruit to the Lieutenant or Captain, and not to
the Recruiting Sergeant.
