The returns from New Castle' county is all that
has been received here yet, which indicates the
probableseleetion of Wm. Thrap, of Kent county,
the demoeritic - candidate. In New Castle co., he
ruhs - far ahead of his ticket, receiving a majority of
81, which is.a gain of 227 votes since the last Gov
' erhor's . election, when Stockton, the whig candi
date received but 45 maj. in the State. Kent and
Sussex counties have not yet been heard from.
John W: Houston,.the whig candidate for Con
gress, receives' a majority of 78 votes in New Castle
co., and is' upposed to be elected. The whig Sher
iff, Geo. Platt, is also, elected by 17 maj., as also
the entire whig legislative is ticket.
MICHIGAN. ELscrtorr,—We.have returns
Michigan, as far as heard from, give the Democrats
20 and•the, Whigs 2 Senators. The House stands
51 Denaocrati to 13 Whigs, being a very large
Democratic gain since last. year. The Congress•
Tonal delegation will be Democratic.

The trial of the crew of the brig Cactus was do
sed tB-day. Harding and Grimes were found guil
ty of manslaughter, and Williams was acquitted.
There has been quite a decided decline in flour
today. Three thousand barrels of fresh ground
flour was sold at $5 50; corn meal is selling at
$3,60} per barrel, and rye flour $4,12i. There
was also a slight decline in grain to day. White
wheat sold at $1,20 per bushel; red $1,12; rye 78;
Pennsylvania corn 70; and oats 33.
The stock market was firm, and there is no change
'to - note in prices. F.
