The St.-Louis Union of the 26th ult. win--
Boats from the upper Mississippi report a rise of
some three or four inches above the Rapids. The
Minas continues quite low, the recent rise having
entirely subside& The Mbssouri is navigable only
tor boats drawing less.than two and a half feet.—
At this point a slight rise is perceivable—say two
or threelfiches, within the last frorty.eight hours:
We learn that the steamer India struck aNansig„
recently, near liberty Island, by which her entire
star-board guard WAS demolished.
On. her upwardtriP, the I. J. Hardin was run
into by the .7:kraal:ilk 'near Lake Providence, by
which accident Ithe larboard wheel of -the former

boat was materially injured.

from • St:Louis, says the Louisville Democ!at of
Thursday, reports the steamer Sam Seay sunk at
the Sisters. We did not learn any of the particu
lars; but understand that no lives were lost. The
boat is a total loss,

says: oThe navlgation of the Kentucky river is for
the present stipended. The river being very low,
