IMPOITANT NEWS Exeshrsti.=The anxiety
to hear from the Seat of War, as well as from the
Gulf Squadron, is becoming intense, and may now
be looked' for daily. The New Orleans Picayune,
in noticing the excitement on this subject there;
says:—
"We share deeply in the prevailing desire for thr ,
tber news, especially froth the army. We are in a
state of uncertainty. as yet to the amount .of loss
sustained by our troops and:the Mexicans; the con.
dition of our wounded officers and men:is inflicting
new sufferings upon friends and kindred with eve
ry days delay; and we are all anxious .to know if
the evacuation of Monterey was effecied neaceably
and with promptitude. The Galveston sailed from
here early on the morning of the 2d inst., and arri
ved at Brazos on the 6th. She may well bring us
intelligence eight or ten days later from the army.
Till her arrival, one must endure a suspense far
from agreeable." •

-141" Their virtues are so infallible that the money]
will be returned in all cases they do not give univer,l
sal satisfaction. Although but two and a half years
have elapied since these celebrated Pills were first
introduced. to the public, the sale of them in the
Eastern and middle States has far, exceeded Dr.
Clickeners most sanguine expectations. During the
past year, alone, no less than 10,000 gross of boxes
have been sold in the State of New York, 6,000 in
Pennsylvania, 4,000 in Maryland, 3,000 in New Jer-j
soy, 2,000 in Delaware, and 9,000 in the New England j
States, requiring the constiut employment of 271
hands, exclusive of printers and engravers. In the
same period, upwards of 200,000, copies of the
"Family Doctor" have been ordered, by agents in
every section of the country. These facts moan
show, conclusively, that Dr. Click otters Sugar Coat
ed Pine, besides being the very best medicine in the
world, are held in the highestestimation by the public.
We might extend this publication to an indefin- I length, if we decineil it expedient to publish all
tersiutonials we have received, not only from agents I
but indt vuluals and families, who have experienced'
the benticial effects of Clickeners Sugar Coated
Pills, but 'we deem it unnecessary. The most in-.
eontestible evidence of their unprecedented success, •
are the numberless Imitations and Counterfeits which
have already appeared, notwithstanding the brief pe
riod they have been before the public. Even some
of our staunchest pill maktira have had the audacity
to imitate the Capsule of Suga r , in order to disguise
the ingredients of their vile compounds, and palm
them off for the...real Simon pure." Such paltry
shifts cannot last long without exposing their hideous
deformity. Truth and honesty must inevitably 'pre
vail over rascality and deception.

Prepared by Dr. George Bennett, of New 'Fork city.
THE unprecedented success that has attended the
use of these pills in the prietice of the proprie
tor for, the last six or eight years; bas induced him
to yield to the importunities of many who hare used
and been benefitted 4' them, and make arrange
merits to place them within the reach of the public
generally. In doing so tic feels called upon to say
that the Indian, Vegetable Reathratite Pills in deci-'
dedly superior to any with which be is acquainted.
They combine the properties of many of the best
vegetable medicines (used in no other pills) in such
a manner as to afford not only immediate and tem
porary but permanent relief.
The valuable tonic which enters into triiir corm
position, by their action upon the secretory organs
hold in check the purgative principle, and induce a
gentle and natural operation, without inconvenienee
or pain, and while they restore a natural and healthy
action of
,the stomach, liver and bowels; they in
crease instead of diminishing the.ettetigth bf the pa
tient., The general ` that a powerful and vio
lent purgative is necessary is founded in error; they+
inAeneral irritate the stomach and bowels, derange
tharsecretione, and are productive of very serious
conilequences, and it should be knciwti that the great.
mass °fill's in general use are composed of the'
most powerful andirritating purgatives, and act with
too great a degree of yielenee, producing that de
rangement in the *Otero that is followed by con-.
stigation of the bowels, indigestion and costiveness.i
, From these facts the natural inference - would be
that to maintain uniform health it is necessary to'
correct unhealthy secretions, expel morbid humors'
and purify the system, by the use 'bra medicine that
will act efficiently yet mildly, assist instead of de
ranging the organs of the system, and dills. bring na
. rare in its proper and healthy channel, to accomplish .
I which no medicine is superior to the Indian Veleta -
Isle Restorative Pills; their operation is, in ordinary
I doses, to promote a natural and easy evacuation; arid
at the same time by their tonic property impart vigor
:and health to . the system, but when a powerful and
speedy operation is necessaey, it will be accomplish
ed by increasing the dose, which may be done with
perfect safety, as they are entirely Vegetable.
They have been
the
as a family Medicine for
„years by many of the first respectability, and aid)° ,
they are not recommended to "heal all the ills
that flesh is heir to;" yet it has been fodnd very rare
that it has been found necessary for those using them
to employ any other medicine, and their occasional
use will almost invariably prove an effectual preveur
five Hi disease. They are exactly adapted to the use
offamiliee,traiffiers anesearnen; they cleanse the
blood, causing a free circulation—open the obstruc
tions and promote the secretions of healthy bile, and
consequently arc an excellent medicine for nausea,
indigestion, nervous disorders, dejection, liver com
plaint, pains in the head,'side and break, Costive
ness, loss ofappetite, urinaryobstructions, ague and
fever, bilious amid intermittent fevcr, dysentery, rheu
rustism.scorfula, and arc eminently useful in all fe•
male complaints—and in one word, all diseases aris
ing from unhealthy secretions and impurity. of the
blood. Numerous testimoniabi of their efficacy in
particular cases might be added, but the proprietor
prefers presenting a few certificates of their general
character, from persons of unquestionable cando
and veracity, who would not in any degree lend their
influence to promote anything that is not of decided
utility, and; rely upon their intrinsic merits to gain
,them a reputation, feeling a perfect confidence that
none will abandon their use who give them a fair
. trial. .
. Beads of families should always keep a quantity
. of Dr. Osborne's Indian Vegetable Restorative Pills
in the house; they never fail. For those •who oral
subject to fits, headablie, giddiness, dimnessof sighti
or drowsiness arising from tod great a flow of blood
to the bead, should take these pills in preference toi
{anything else, as they arc a sure remedy.
. Females who value good health should never bdi
without Dr. Osborne's Indian Vegetable Keith:misfired
!Pills, as they purify the hlood, remove obstructions;
tad give the skin a beautiful, clear, healthy and be-,
coming appearance. It has beenaittnitted by a
