who behaved so nobly at the loss of the Truxton,
off Tuspan, passed , through that city on Wednesday

conversed with Lieut. Berryman on the cars, that
it has been determined to attack Vera Cruz - on the

hoisting of the - stars and . stripes in the city will be
the signal for an attack by the squadron upon the

in which the castle can be taken, and the obtaining
possession of that point is deemed necessary to end
the war

To' GET RID OF A GOITRE.—Many
persons labor under thc mistaken idea that
Goitre (an enlargement jon the throat, producing
great deformity, and often death from pressure on
the windpipe and large blood-vessels,) is incurable.
This is a very, great mistake. This disease, as well
as Scuovut..k, are eradicated from the system by that
pleasant, yet powerful medicine, JAYHD . EI ALTERA-

as that the sun gives light, and heat. All is wanted,
is a fair trial of its virtues, and the tumor will licgin

HE SKIN AND COMPLEXION, at this (and,
1 . indeed, every other) season, isoften repulsive -
in, appearance, caused, in eight case, out of ten, by' '
the atmosphere; and what personersuppose disease
of the blood, is simply a disease of the skin. If
some of the thousands who take purgative medicine,
pills, and' useless Sarsaparilla, were to use on their _
akin a softening and clearing balm, that opens the
pores, whitens the skin, and causes a healthy perspi
ration, that, be the skin never so disfigured, unheal-
Ithy; or diseased with pimples Or freckles, sunburn,
tan and morphew, the true and genuine JONES'S
ITALIAN CHEMICAL SOAP never fails to cure
and dispel. them, and to make tho skin clear and
lovely. It acts so mildly and soothingly on the
skin, that physicians use it on ladies and infants, in
oldcases of scurvy, crysipelas, salt rheum, sore head,
'ringworm, and it (mind, the genuine Jones , Soap) .
has often effected a cure when every' other remedy
failed. It is indeed a blessed remedy. .
