J. Ir.lllitritore.—Dear Sir: As youare the reg

Wisttes BalSam of Wild Cherry,” I take this meth
od of making a statement of facts to 'you (which- I.
hope may he published to the world) in reference to
an althost miraculous Cure, wrought in my case by.
means ef- the above inunfitabie Baisern. ' "i , '
Language fails to describe the salutary effects it pre
duced, and the-great benefit Iderived &omits use.
The citizens of Dayton and vicinity, well recol
lect that ortthe Bth ofAligtist last; h" received" seri
ous injury from_ the explosion-of a Cannon.- A per
tion of its contents entered my right bide and breast;
and in all probability, some fragments or splinters of I
the rain rod papied through the "Our:4" mod pierced
the Lungs. . . . _ .
. , .
After th ' lap Xii of about six weeks, I was
with a dis using cough and a violent pain fit. my

right side. Some teirdays after this when in a par
arymn of 'coughing, suddenly and I.lloEltbroke,'axyl
a large quantity, of very - offensive.; matter.: mixed
with blood, was discharged; most of which found
passage through the opening of the 'wound. From
this 'opening there frequently '.passed a quantity of
air, supposed to isate • from the hits: During all
this time my sufferings Were almost intolerable.
My physicians: meanwhilepaid the strictest atten
tion to me, and did rib in - their power for my recov
ery. But with all their skill they could not reach
the sell of distress, after the Lungs had become affect
ed. I was visited 'Jerk this time by at least twenty
It WWI now reduced to a certainty, that inflame/lion
of the tangs was rapidly -tiking place; and thh.t this
would terminate, my life in a.' very short time, was in
the highest degree probabit.
At this critical, stage, a messenger was despatched
to Cincinnati, and. a celebrated Physician of that
place was consulted. When he Nyan made acquaint
ed with my situation, he remarked that nothing could
be done by. medical aid, if the constitution itself was
not sufficient to throw olf thtt, flisease.
. .
Bry friends now , despaired of my recovery, and I
had no earthly ground of hope to survive many days:
Fortunately at this juncture, I. 133.1 C one of Dr. Wis

had often heard of dying men "catching at straws,"
I felt this doing so Myself:" By the' consent of my
Physicians, lscnt to you for a bottle of the 'medicine
described viz: " Winter's Balsam' of Wild Cherry;"
which relievea nie almost immediately. After I
had used some five or si4 boitleslsojar recovcred as
tots up and.about. cough-eeased, and my lungs
were restored to a healthy state--pll from the heal
ing 'and bfiliny influsaiie and powerfesl

Were it not from the external injury I received in
my shoulder and arm by the explosion, I feel confi
dent that I Might have been working at my trade
(which is blacksraithingd. hut this has prevented.
By exposure, I have since taken several severe
colds, and my only remedy has been ' , Pre balsam."
And-I now must cordially recommend the genuine
