just such a pen as suits him The Spen

of movement, smoothness of point and
great durability, and are a nearer ap

manufactured in England under the su

Joseph Gillott the Utter making a few
of the numbers after the models of the
late P. R. Spencer, the famous penman.
They are used very largely in the com

the principal commercial colleges, in the
government offices at Washington, and
in the banks and eommerciil offices
throughout the country, the sale reaching
an enormous quantity annually. For the

lows :
He was about 18 or 19 years of age
and quite stout built. He had been
rather indisposed for some time and was
taking medicine from Dr. I. J Meals, of
Mill Creek. On Saturday his mother
gave him a powder to take that the Doc
tor had left or sent him, after taking it
he said that was all the powder be would
need and went np stairs to his room and
in a very few minutes tbe report of a
pistol was heard. On bis sister going up
stairs she found him lying across the bed
with his head to tbe wall, covered with
blood, and a largo Army Revolver lying
under the front side of the bed. The
ball had entered the centre of bis fore
head and 'xlged ia the back part of the
head. This occurred about to o'clock a.
m., and he lived in an entirely insensible
condition, till about 3 o'clock, P. M , when
he died. No cause has been assigned for
the rash act except the presumption of
temporary insanity. It is said that on
several occasions, a short time before, he
spoke of leaving aud doing things for
the last time, Ac.
