before woiking, with the oak bark solu
tion." Cholera. First drink one half pint
of pure Cognac brandy. Then every
fifteen minutes after, take one tablespoon
ful of a mixture made of one half ouuce
each of gum mynh, Cayenne pepper and
camphor, in a pint of pure Cognac, for
tbe first hour It will euro either the
gripes or colic instantly.
To Blfach Clothes. One ounce of
oxalic acid to a pint of water ; a tumbler
of this to three gallons of water. I'm in
the clothes ; lir it well ; tuen i inse twice.
To whiteu brown cloth, boil in weak lye,
and expose day and night to the sun and
night air ; keep the clothes well sprinkled.

peppermint water, teu drachms ; spirits
of nutmeg, one drachm ; take it twice a
day. It is a tonic, a stimulant, etc , and
never fails to cure druukennesa in a short

in hot tallow. Let it cool ; then wash in
warm suds. Sometimes these stains can
be removed by wetting the place iu very
sour buttermilk or lemon juice ; rub salt
over, and bleach in the sun.
Hgali.xu Salve. Mutton tallow, four
lbs.; bees wax, one pound ; rosin, half a
pound ; turpentine, three ounces. Melt
the three first over a slow fire ; then add
tLe turpentine when nearly cold.
