that the friends of Mr. David Switzer,
formerly a citizen of this county, who
was murdered in Johnson county, Mis
souri, are anxious to know v.hetLcr the
murderers Lave been brought to justice,
I now give them the facts in the case:
Oa the night following the burial of Mr.
Switzer, the Yigilence Committee, some
two hundred strong, went to the house of
Dick Sanders, one of the murderers took
Liui out, and, after giving him a trial by
twelve good citizens, hung him. During
the trial it was demonstrated that the par
ty of murderers, horse thieves, etc., was
composed of sixteen persons, when said
Committee, continued diligently at their
Trork, until they had executed five of them
when the o'.hers, iueluding Morg. An
drews the other murderer of Mr. Switzer,
fled from the country, aud was next heard
from in Kansas, where he was taken iu
company with Tom Stevens, one of the
party, brought to Warrcnsburg, and hurg,
as the lollowing taken from the Philad'a.

The Vigilance Committee of Johnson
county, hung Tom Steveus and Mor.
Andrews, two notorious out-laws, in War
rcnsburg, yesterday. They were brought
from Kansas on a requisition from The
Governor, and taken from the Sheriff by
m party of 200 men. j
Three farmers of the vicinity of War
rcnsburg, connected with the band of
horse thieves, have been arrested by the
Vigilance Committee aud lodged in jail
to await a trial at the next term of (he

West Perry township, Snyder county, was
consumed by fire. Mr. Van Ormcr was
for many years a resident of Fayette towo
ehlp, Juniata county, Tbo fire was first
discovered about half-past eleven o'clock,
and is supposed to have been the work of
an iucct-diary. The loss is about 52000.

No alterations are necessary or required in
tiie yard or in the manner of manufacture,
but a great saving of labor is attained by
not being required to 'day awav," and this
leather being scoured with great ease.
The great virtue of this discovery consists
in the lessoning to one-half the expense of
tanning by the use of a purely vegetable
ma'ter, in conjunction with tan bark, which
can be at nny time, in all seasons, and at any
place secured at the liuii'cl co?t of net mare
than twenty-gve cents to a hundred hi ics.
This system having beeu but recently dis
