Tuesday and Wednesday of last week.
The attendance Was large, and the dele

Lodges as beinj in flourishing eouditiou
aud doing much good. Ou Tuesday even
ing a public meeting was held in the M.
K. Ch'trch, where addresses were ueliver
cn by Charles Stratford and Mrs. Frances
Gage. Mr. fc'tratfurd, as usual, spoke in
flowing terms of the Order, and mani
fested his hatred for the rumseller. Mrs.
Gage spoke at length, aud adiiresscd her
remarks principally to the female portion
of the B'idiiMicp, plainly shcrving them
their duty as mothers, aud urging upon
tlieta the. necessity of training their chil
dren to be tempi rate in all things, bul
uiorc especially 111 alcoholic drinks.
On Wednesday evening another meet
ing was held in the Lutheran Church.
Kcv. Crever delivered a very cleiiuent
and soul stirring address on the subject of
Temperance. Mrs. Gage also, delivered
Kuotht-r address which was received with
good intent. The houses 011 both occa.
tious were crowded to their utmost, and
at the fust meeting many persons could
not liud room to be seated. We hear the
Convention spoken of by persons who do
not belong to the ordtr as being the foic
runuer of much good. The delegates
were highly pleased with the Lospilab!.?
manner in which ibey wee entertained
by the citizens of I'errysville. The next
