Tub Mass Meeting held at Perryg villa on Saturday evening last to ratify ; the nomination of Maj. Gen John V. Geary for Governor, was a perfect success. A special train was in readiness at 6 o'clock to take the Mifflin and Patterson delegations down. Geary, the soldiers candidate for Governor of Pennsylvania. Si-niNu Elections The elections in Mifflin borough and Fermanagh, township were contested by the party vote. In tho borough the Copperheads formed a straight ticket, putting cn three Republicans. But their catch would not take, and the result was the defeat of all but Messrs. Allison and llelford, whn were the nominees of both parties. Mr. Itollman's defeat is at tributed to the fact that he was the only young, single uiau ou the ticket for Coun cil, and. not owning any real estate, somo of his own party cut him, aud thus elect ed Mr. Jacobs. However, we claim it as a Republican victory. In Fermanagh township the Judge of Elections, one of the School Directors, and Constable were a tie vote. The law says that the Inspector elected having the highest number of tho votes cast, has the power to appoint a Judge, and .Mr Enos Bergy having received the highest num ber of votes, will appoint a Republican Judge. With the exception of the tie votes an l one School Director, the entire I Republican ticket was elected. WALKED TOWNSHIP. JIge of Elections Johu B.iok. Iuspectur " John Gingrich. . " Calvin Watt.
