The was divided into two equal parts, one pa 4 woe placed in a single pan and the other - was divided between , two pane; making the milk in the first lot stand 5 inches and that of the second lot, owing to the smaller diameter , of Abe' bottom of the pans, 3 inches deep. The milk had ordi nary usage as regal* temperathre, with out testing with, the thermometer. From the crream of the first Tot of deeper set bog, 5 pound's and .12 - dunces of butter were churned, and from the crearrt.of the shallow setting 6 pounds and 3 ounces werb churned—making G ounces in favor of shallow setting. Aiscph B. Sitnpsons Report..--We took 178 lbs. of milk and set it 4, to 5 inches deep,,which is us deep as can be set in or dinary tin pans. The time is now approaching for sow ing the seed of annuals and of other plaate, audit is important that the work be properly done. We once employed a nonce to sow some seed, in the absence of a better gardener, and he resolved to do his work well.. He accordingly bitried the seed so deep that few ever came up, and the seedman was denofinced for selling what was bad. Aportiou was left for a time, then sowed in a hurry, the man having time only to give a thin dash of earth over them. These came tip profuse ly, and the reputation of the seedinun was rescued. The rule which we have adop ted for beds in open ground is to- cover all Seed from three to five times their shorter diemeter—small seed receiving only a alight sprinkling, and larger a more copious sifting of the fine mould. Novel should be sown When the soil is not dry enough to be reduced to flue powder. The best soil is sandy loam, but a larger proportion of clay makes a good material it dryeaough to be made per fectly Mellow: The addition of sand and leaf mould wilimake any soil of proper consistency. The best way to so* seeds is, in the brat place in, drills or circles; then the weeds may be easily taken out. If sown broadcast, it will be more dcult to keep the bed clean. Provide a quanti ty of finely pulverized mould in a basket tr. barrow, and cover them by sprinkling it evenly- over with the hand. Avoid soaking the beds - with water. until the plants are up. If the surface is likely to become too dry after sowing, which is of ten the case, put on a thin gauzy mulch ing. This may be pulverized moss, thin catemss, or_ even a tiwspapers. Every person wheiplenta a floiver garden should know the 'tardy plants, which usually come np soon, and ma be' sown early. from the tender,. which are often more tardy in appearing, andtshould be sown later: Most seed cattilognes designate • them, septuately. Thin .-.t.5.•34C14j falling hair chocked, and baldness often, though not always, cured by its use. Nothing can restore the hair where the follicles are de stroyed, or the glands atrophied and decayed; but such as remain can bo saved by this application, and stimu. lated into activity, so that a new growth of hair is produced. Instead of fouling the hair with a pasty sedi ment, it will keep it clean and vigorous. Its occasional use will prevent the hair from 'turning gray or falling - off, and consequently prevent baldness. Tho restoration, of vitality it gives to tho scalp arrests and prevents the forma tion of dandruff which is often so un cleanly and offensive. Free from those deleterious substances which make some preparations dangerous and inju rious to the hair, the Vigor can only benefit but not harm it. If wanted merely for a HAIR.
