Death of Garden fietwitt.
After a long life of activity, and nsethincss;
Mr Ounlen Hewitt, of Owego, died at his resi
dence in that village'on Sunday, Dec: 241 b. Mr.
Hewitt, had reached the advanced ago of 82
years. Fifty years of his lifit had been. devoted
. to active business pursuits in Owego, : Success
tutd very generally attended his business opera
tions, and his labels were crOwned by an abund
ant pecuniary reward. Ills business operations
not only increased his own wealth, but also ad
vanced the growth and prorperity of the village
of Owego. He was very generally esteemed and
respectesl, and his death will be mourned by A
