Take Your couniy Paper.
We rueunenett not tong since that we

The World invites a eomparism of the
expenditures for the two, years 1880-61,
tinal.B69-70, respectively. It will
,thus
be, seen that our rulers expended during
the lait two years of profound pence,
,11;613,603,867.66.
From this must be deducted in round
titimbers about' two hundred and forty
million dollaris as interest on the debt du
ring the two years, which leaves $373,-
-603,866 expended in carrying -on the gov
"ernment.
, From this another deduction of about
forty millions for pensions during the two
years must be made, which the late war
entailed, and the balance will be found to
he 16333,603,867..
Tlie. total amount expended in the two
years of 1860-61 was $129,675,916. From
this must be deducted, for interest ;raid
in the two years—viz $3,177,314 in 1860,
and *4,000,173 in 1861—57,177,487, leav
ing a balance ..of $122,399.429 expended
to curry on the government during the
aforesaid years of 1860-61. Now, we
have increased daring these ten years, or
rather only eight years if strictly reckon
ed, say one fifth ; and the expenditure
should therefore be increased one-fifth,
which irudded to the $122,499,429 (being
4 1624,499, 885), amounts in a sum total of
16146,990,314.
