Two Arabs sat down to dinner, and were accosted by a stranger. who requested to join their party, saying. "that he could not get provisions to buy In that part of the country ; if they would admit. him to eat only an equal share with themselves he would willingly pay them the whole." The frugal meal consisted.' of eight small loaves of bread, five of which 1 , belonged to one of the Arabs, and three to the other. The stranger having eaten ' a third part of the eight loaves, arose and said before them eight pieces of money, , 'raying: "My friends, there is what I promised you; divide it between you ac cording to your rights." A little dispute 'arose respecting a division of the Money ; but reference' being made to the Cadi, lie adjudgedseven pieces to the owner of five, loaves and only onepiece to him who owned the three loaves. Yet the Cadi decided justly. —lt ie reported that; the workmen of the Lehigh Crane Irow-Conspany, at Osit asangtia, are oti,a strike-for higher wages. --John ; ,Ellie, i t florist, resident of White .Pluins, .New Yoris, has been, miss-, ingAim his )4;31n-for sovera ) 'O4B, andi, it is flared, hag been murdered.
