directed, I will expose. to sale by public vendue, at the
Court-honse, In Montrose. on Saturday, June 6.1868,
at I o'clock, P. M., the following described pieces or
parcels of land, to wit:
All that certain piece or parcel of land, with the ap
purtenances, lying and being in the townAip of Chow
nut. Susquehanna county. Penn'a, liounded and de
scribed as follows : On the north by lands of Jasper
Stanley, Martin Golden and John Marinan ; on the east
b) lands of James Pi tzmarttn and John Gorman ; on
the south by lands or Patrick fondly and lands of the
estate of k aleb Carman, dec'd ; and on the west by
lands of the said Caleb Carrnalt dec`O—containing
about 100 acres, with ;5 acres improved, One log house,
two framed barns, and two small orchards.

scribed as follows, to wit: Beginning at a birch tree on
the south aide of Fall Brook, on the farm of Nathan P.
Wheaton, known as the" Salt Spring Farm," near the
northeast corner of the ice house. thence north 503'
east 307.10 perches (crossing Fall Brook and Silver
creek) to the end of a stone wall, thence by said wall
and the fence north 6,4'' west 16 perches to the centre
of the public road; thence along the said road south SS*
east 32 perches, and south SO' east 16 2 10 perches to
the corner of a Jot sold to John Cromwell; thence by
said Cromwell's lot south 93r east 21 perches to the
centre of the creek ; thence - town the average centre of
the creek, north 77J4" east 21 perches to the east line
of said e heaton's whole farm, thence along said line
south 2' west 10 perches to a post and stones near the
top of the precipitous bank orbluff rennin along the
smith side of the trek; thence along the shoulder of
sa id bank or bluff south 79' and 50 min. west' 6 perches
to a email hemlock stump fora corns-; thence north 9'
west 11 perehea, to the place of beginning, containing
fifteen acres and forty perches of land, more or less,
embracing the •' old salt spring" within its limits, and
also the confluence of silver creek and fall brook; also
the 'right of way for the parties of the first part and all
guests and visitors in common with others as hereto
fore in passing and repassing from the spring near the
west end of the lot, along up the hank of fall brook ra
vine, to and around the falls, subject to the reserva
tion nevertheless in favor of Nathan P. Wheaton, his
heirs, etc., as follows, to wit : The right of way, or
privilege, of crossing the lot as heretofore by a road or
way i to and from the unsold woodland lying south of
the Same : Also the right to one sixteenth part of the
profits of any mines, minerals, salt or oil, that may
hereafter be discovered in the said lot • and further that
nothing herein shall be so construed as to interfere
with the water privilege heretofore granted to Luther
Snow and now or late exercised by him of draining the
creek near the lower end of said lot, and raising the wa
ter as now or late raised for the ascot the saw mill be•
low it so Ifing as required for that purpose, which right
is to result to the said Wheaton, veLenever abandoned
by the present occupants, being the same premises
heretofore conveyed by N. P. Wheaton and wife to A.
H. Brummell and by A. H. Brummell and wile to the
said Susquehanna Salt Works—Also, all that certain
piece or parcel of land situate in said township of
Franklin and adjoining the tract above described, and
bounded and described as follows, to wit: Commencing
at the south side of Silver Creek at low water mark in
the line of the lands aforesaid, thence running west
along the south side of Silver Creek at low water mark,
seven rods and one third to a stake and stones on the
eolith side of Silver creek; thence south six and 34 rods
to the line - of said tract aforesaid: thence in a north east
direttion along the line of said tract, ten rods to the
place of beginning, being the same premises conveyed
bv N. I'. Wheaton and wife, to F. J. Wall, and by said
Wall conveyed to the party of the•first part. Also, all
that certain piece or parcel of land situate in said Town
ship of Franklin. acijoinilig the two tracts above de
scribed, and bounded and described as follows : Com
mencing at a post on the north side of Fall creek, in the
line of land conveyed to A. H. Brummell aforesaid,
thence running north sixty one feet to a post and stones;
thence east fifty feet to the line of land conveyed to
Bramwell aforesaid; thence along said line to the place
of beginning, containing about seventy nine rode more
or lean, being the same premises conveyed by N. P.
Vrheaton and wife, to !tie parties In the possessionof
and now occupied by the parties of the first part by
their salt works; together with the buildings and erec
tions thereon, tanks, block of kettles, engine. machin
ery. tubing apparatus, tools, wood cut, and fixtures, in
cluding all the property of said party of the first part,
real and personal. in .he premises with all and singu
lar the ways, waters, water courses. rights, liberties,
privileges, improvements. hereditaments and appurte
nances whatsoever therennto belonging,. or in any wise
appertaining. nnd the reversions and renieinders. rents,
issues and profits thereof, to hare and to the said tracts
of land aforesaid, personal property and fixtures, and
hereditaments hereby granted or mentioned or intended
so be, with the appurtenances unto the said Gardner
Landon jr., and John Van Orden, their heirs and an.
signs. to the only proper nee and benoof of the said
Gardner Landon innior, and John Van Ordea their
