Patent Atmospheric
CHURN DASH!
Patented Dlay 7, 1867.
The most Important and Valuable Liven
term of the 19th Century.
1. This Dasher Is superior to any other - , by being as
simple as the old Dasher, and combining the atmos
pheric princtplos therewith, and the Butter Gatherer
. It is superior to all others, inasmuch as the sameewer applied to this in like mechanical operations
will make oPe fourth' more'reciprocatious.
It is superior taall others, inasmuch as it produ
ces the Butter in a much shorter time.
4. It is superior to any other, Inasmuch as It produ
nes a cinch better quality of Butter.
5. It is imperior to any other Patent Churn, Inae
much as it bs 500 per cent. cheaper than any other.
It is well known to Dairymen and others, that Butter
is contained in minnte globules or sacks, covered with
a membrane, and requires the action of air to prepare
the coveting to be removed by friction. The ScieLtinc
American says :
"If cream is dashed nfminst a hard sub-tines, or
mashed between bars or rollers, it breaks the
and becomes oily, by destroying tits grain. It should
-be thrown into earl-cuts and connterl eurrentk
by the action of air, causing a friction by the ~r
the currents against each other. removing the c,;,,•ering
without breaking orhurst,ipg the globules,"
This is the principle which the inventor of title Dash
endeavored to keep "in view, and the resu't shows a
ranch larger yield of Dotter obtained in less time than
by any other Dasher.
Experiments have protien that any other metilon cx•
cept pumping, air through the cream, will not pone, rate
sufficiently to oxygenize all the globules prepar ttory to
concentrating the Batter. Throwing it into the air ty
clappers or old fashlottfi Dashers, does not sufficiently
expose it to the air to bring out the Butter.
Tbe above Patent Basher has been purchascd fo: sus
quehanna County by the undersigned. The pr , ,ci -e
churning can be seen at any time, In a Glass CLe::.. at
