,however,
possible that they are foolish enough,to

KANSAS OUTRAGES
s
We learn frog the Topeka (Kansas)
Tribune of the 21st inst., that Deputy C,.,
S. Marshal I... Arms, went to that Village'
on the day previous, with a writ for the
arrest of John Ritchey, and in company
with an a cquaintance, he proceeded to
-Mr. Ritchey's resicleueefor the pirrpose of ;
serving it. —At the . gate he met Mr:i
Ritchey and infornied lkin as to thematurei
„of his business, _and Ritchey not being'
armed, seemed disposed. to acknowledeiq
the 31arshars authority, but upon walk
ihg into the house with him, RiteheYselz-1
ed a revolver and shot the Marshal leadl l ,
upon 'the spot. Ritchey is a noted Black
Republican *law, arid is suffered to gol
unpunished, by the local abolition author-j
ities, on the ground that the "homicide
ivas justifiable." Resistance to law is nowl
the test of Republicanism.
