Climate 25 Miles Southeast of Philadelphia,
on the Camden and Atlantic Railroad,
• Ilt i EW JERSEY.
N old estate consisting of several thousands
L - 1 of acres of productire soil has been ditided
into Farms of various sizes to suit the purchaser.
A population of some Filleen'llundred, from va
rious parts of the middle States and New Eng
land have settled there the past year, improved
their places, and raised crops. The price of land
is at the low sum of from $l5 to $llO per acre,
the - soil is of the best quality for the production
of Wheat, Corn, Peaches, Grapes and Vegeta.
hies. IT IS CONSIDL•'RED TDB BEST
FRUIT SOIL IN TILE UNION. The place is
perfectly secure from frosts—the destructive
enemy of the'larmer. Crops of grain, grass and
fruit are,now growing and can be seen. By ex
arning, the place itself, a correct judgement can
be formed of the productiveness of the land.
The terms are mad» easy to secure they.spid im
provement of the land, which is only sold for
actual intprorrinent. The result has been, that
within the past year, atime three- hundred houses
have been erected, two mills, one steam, foot
stores, some forty- vinyards and peach orchards,
planted, and a large number of other improve
ments, making it a desirable and active place iif
business.
THE MARKET,
as'the reader may perceive from its location, is the
BEST IN THE UNION.
Produce bringing double the price than in lo
cations away from the city, and more than dou
ble the price than the West. IL is known that
the earliest and best fruit nifa vegetables in this
latitude come from New Jersey, and are annual.
ly exported to the extent of millions.
In locating here the settler , has many advan
tages. He is within a fewi hours' ride of the
great cities of New England and Middle States,
he is near his old friends and associations, he is
in a settled country where every improvement of
comfort and rivi-lization is at band. He can buy

and delightful climate. where fevers are utterly
unknown. The result of the change upon thole
from the north, has generally been to restore
thent to an excellent state of health.
In the way of building and improving, lumber
can be obtained at the mills at the rate of $lO
to- 815 per thousand. Bricks from the brick
yard ripened in the place, every article can be
procu'red in the place, good carpenters are at
hand, and therein no place in the Union where
buildings and improv, ments can be made
cheaper.
The reader will at once be struck with the
advantages litre presented, and ask himself why
the property has not been taken up - before. The
reason is, Filis never thrown in the market:
and unless these statements were correct, - no
one would be invited to examine the land be
fore purchasing. This all are expected to do.
They will see land tinder cultivation, such is

EVANS & WATSON,
Have had the surest demonstration in the
following certificate that their manufacture of
Salamander Safes has at length fully warranted
the representations which have been. made of
them as rendering an undoubted security against
the terrific element :
Philadelphia, Apri1 . 12 . 6, 1856
Messrs, EVAXS WATEON.—GOCIIIeIIICII: It
affords us the -highest satisfaction , to state to
you, that owing to the, very proteCtive qualities
of two of the Salamander Safes which we
purrhased,of you some months since, we saved
a large portion of our jewelry, and all our books,
papers, &c., exposed to the calamitous fire in
Ranstead Place, on the morning of the 11th
inst.
When we reflect that those Safes were located
in the fourth story of the building we occupied,
and that they subsequently fell into a.beap of
burning ruins, where the vast concentration of
heat caused the brass plates to melt, we cannot
bet regard the preservation of- their valuable
contents as moat convincing proof of.the great
security afforded by your Safes. • -
We shall take much pleasure in recommend
ing them to men of business as a aura reliance
against fire.
