Oniv.ersalist c.hurch, on the.loth. inst., in the pres
ence of a laige and sympathizing congregation,
evincinglheii'lligh regard for her that was no

are highest, and human prospects fairest and
when it is rnost'matural to cling tenaciously to
life, was he called .away.
Had he been in the Providence of God.permit
- ted - to have come down to his grave, even in
youth, by the -natural coarse of disease, it would
have mitigated somewhat, the grief. of a deeply
afflicted 'amity._ Though the ways ofGod are
deeply-invsterious: t.nd to us frequently inpm
prehensit;le,yet it is our duty to bow meekly tbad
kiss the rod, and say " thywill be done."
While playfully using a pocket knife, he-acei
- dentally ran the blade into his kg,,.severing an
artery, and wounding, a nerve,tho latter of which
was the immediate cause of.his death. The acci
dent occurredin? Tuesday evening. &o'clock, and
although the loss of blood was very great,he lin
gered until Thorsdny morning, 8 o'clock, when
be expired.
