prnmending your Salamander Safes to Merchants
and others to want of a secure means of preserviug
their books, papers, &c., from. fire, as the one we
purchased from you about seven months since has
presstved our books, and Bash iu aavood a condi
tion as they were when put into it. before the
great fire this morning, which destroyed the en
tire block of buildings corner of Chestnut and Fifth
streeti. The , above was' ha use in onr office, on
the second `:nor of our building, from which place
it fell intothe cellar and remained there until the
fire was out.. The, Safe 'was then retneved and
opened in the presence .of at least 10110 . persons,
who witnessed the good condition of the contents.
, Will yen please have the Safe and Locks repaired
1 as we-intend to put it in nue again, having perfect
nonlidenee in its fire-proof qualities.
