This wonderful Nebraska bill has wrought
A Miracle that "never wart seen or thought
Three thousand priesta of pure New • England
Who never in orie point df fkitb agreed,
And never will aggo--that I'll be sworn— -
Till the kat leaf from old book is torn,
MVO turned their throats to one harmonious
strain, /
Mad draw together both by bit and rein.
Religion ne'er could bind them in one tether,
•But politics have brought these mints together,
And knit them, not bf Christian love" of others,
But Christ z ian hatred of their southern brothers,

CATTLE IN Pasmuts.—Steens and oxen
may .be pastured together—so "also-- may
heifeniand cows, yearlings'and wearied calves.
Horses do better .by themselves. Bulls, if
docile and not vicious, may run with oxen.
It should ever be an object. with the grazier
so` ,to arrange and
. - lay out his pasture
grounds, as. to admit of a. change of food, at
least as often as once a fortnight, through, the
season', Sheep should never be Allowed to
'enter lauds appropriated to neat .stock, but
have a separate enclosure by themselves;
they foul the herbage, and by their restless
and wandering habits, greatly abridge the
resources of this stock. Some have 'recom
mended placing a couple_ of sheep to each
horse in the pasture, where close feeding is
desirable, as the sheep will gnaw closer, and
in a inP.l.ure be' sustained on the garbage
left by the horse.
A Ihyr.—Hot dishes sometimes leave
whitish marks on varnished tables when set,
as they should not be, carelessly up on them.
To remove it, pour some lamp oil upon the
spot, - and rub it lard with a. soft cloth.
Then pour on-a little spirits and rub , it - thy
with another cloth, and the irhiie mark -will
disappear, leaving the table as bright as
before.

.Proctical Hints--By A PamnerA
; To KEEP BUTTEU SOLID AND TIOT
WsaTusa.—Have a stone jar, (or butter fir
kin, the first is the best,) half-full of brit*
that will float an egg. • Sugar may be added,
but is not indispensable. - Into this drop
your rolls, or prints of butter when thorough
ly worked, and ready for use. Keep the Jar
elosely covered, and' you will probably not
have a plate of-oily butter on the table all
sumtner,—unless you 'are in the habit of
putting your butter upon the table the first
instead of the kst thmg, at meal times.—l
have known such.
A rli/LADELPthA SPONOI Cuor.—Take ten
eggs, one pound sugar, one-half pound flour
and lemon juice, or extract to flavor. Beat
the whites to a stiff froth, warm and sift - the
flour; stir the , yokes, and sugar together, till
light.; and add the whites and flour, half at a
titue. alternately. Stir the whole gently, till
bubbles rise to the surface., Bake in a ftod
erute oven. -
