inst, Mrs. BETSEY JE.lscs, wife of Eta. DP,

She died of the effects of Cholera, of which
ehe had an attack, on a recent visit to relatives
in Ohio. She was born on the 22d of August
flit, in Blooming Grove, Orange CountY, N.
F., where her father Benjamin Jenkins, with

his family, had taken a temporary refuge.from
the terrible scenes connected with the Wyo
ming Massacre.' She was of Welch descent.
Her grandfather, John . Jettkins,Esq, came from
Wales, and settled as a lawyer, in New Haven,
Conn. In 1765, having become a member of
the Connecticut Susquehanna Company,"
whith purchased some seventeen townships of .
had, on the Snsquebruma river; and having
been appointed one of a Committee of three
to superintend the affairs of that purchase i he
removed into the Wyoming valley. Here he
acted a conspicuous part in -the trying scenes
