annneeted with the case ought to have been
s uit e d We think that physicians should
be compelled to give notice to coroners in
pooh elies, and if not compelled, hamanity

A list of the parduns granted by Wm. F.

three individuals, who stood convicted of
crimes delimit every grade. The records
of the State - Department may be searched
in lain for a parallel, in this wholesale and
indiscriminate use of the pardoning power,
and cannot otherniso than astonish the
good citizens of the C onnumwealth. We
notice in one instance, that of Michael Mgr
phy, of Sclmykill, who was awaiting his tri
al to• a grave offence. he elnititnted him
tellJadge and Jury anti granted bins a,
radon, in advance of a fair and proper
tribunal of the Country ; thus "usurping
the prerogative of the Judiciary, db.:gracing
alike himself and the C.mmonwealtb over,
irtich he presided. His Ex-excellency used
tarty a great deal about the democratic par
ty abusing the pardoning and 'vetoing pow-
