Organisation and Object of the Society.
The Glenwood Agricultural Society was or
ganized October 18th, 1861, on a different
_plan
from all other Agricultural Societies in the Unit
ed States. This Society does not soon its ex
hibitors to the narrow limits of Town, County,
State, no? United States, but opens it to the
World. This is the fourth year of its exhibition,
and, judging from the success of the past, we
expect a great crowd this year, for we have add
ed very largely to our premiums, and shall spare
ao pains in making everything as attractive as
possible. As to the Fair Ground and Track,
they are too well known to need comment—
The Society tenders its thanks to Its former vis
itors, and pledge themselves to do everything
in their power to make this more attractive than
any preceeding one, for we believe in Improve
ment. We refer you to our Premium List and
Rules and Regulations for further information.
Our exhibition this year, will be Wednesday,
Thursday, and Friday, September 20tb,llst and
tad, 1863.

Rules and Regulations.
Tickets for each admission, twenty-five cents,
children under twelve years of age, ten cents.—
Carriages will be allowed to eater the enclosure
on payment of fifty cents for each admission for
a pair of hares, and twenty-five amts for a sin
gle horse. Colts, two years and under, ten cents.
Stock and all other articles entered for axial
tion,free of charge; horses, mules and colts only
excepted. No person will be allowed togamble
or sell intoxicatmg Imams on the Fair Ground.
Tickets of admission wfl 'be furnished at the
ticket office, near the Fair Ground, and returned
to the gate-keeper on entering the enclosure.—
The Books of entries will be with Henry P. Hal
stead, Nicholson, Pa., until the day of the Fair,
at which time they will be found at the office
formerly occupied by Schultk, Baton & Co., near
the Fair Ground.
All articles and animals intended for exhibi
tion should be entered as early as possible. An
imals and articles entered for exhibition will
have cards attached with number and class as
entered on entry book- and it is required that
exhibitors in all cases shall obtain their cards of
number and class previous to placing their arti
cles on the grounds .
The books of entries will be closed at nine

ten o'clock the third day ofthe Fair, after which
time them will positively be no entries made.
All animals and articles for exhibition must
be on the Fair Ground as'eoon as nine o'clock,
Thursday morning, the second day of the Fair,

hooks and proceed to decide the merits of the
articles and animals, entered for premiums. All

remain on the Fait Grounds untß the close of

will trot the find day'of the Fair, commencing
at two o'clock, p. to. Sweepstakes premium of
00, for 131 horses that never trotted in public
within three minutes, at two o'clock t p. m., sec
ond day. The double team trot for 100 premi
tnu, and the single $BOO premium wi I be trotted
fot on the third day, commencing with the
dOnble team, trot at 12 o'clock, m. Immediately
after it is decided the trot for single horses will
come off.
the Annua l Address will be delivered from
the Judges' stand, at 103. o'clock, a. tn., on the
third day of the Fair.
Immediately after the address, the Reports of
the Judges will be announced.
The premiums will be paid at the office of the
'Measurer, in Glenwood, on and after the Ist of
October, except in classes 20, and 21, which will
be paid on the bast day of the Fair, after decision
of the Judaea
Persons competing for premiums in classes 20
and 21 will be required to pay 10 per cent. on
atnount of premium for which they enter.
Feed will be furnished for stock competing
for premiums, on or near the Fair Grounds, free
of charge.
