husbandman that none of this gases of the ina•

law is simply enforced by these suceessive lay
els of muck or turf, thus adding to the wealth of
the farm and the health of the fatnily. The
muck acts not only as an absorbent, bet con
tains in itself the elements of fertility, and by
coming in contact with the pntrcent meanie,
the process of decay in the musk itself is heat

as the chemists call it, is wonderful, it harniktes
the key for the. indefinite increase of the

which at the right moment was pitting with

that roast potatoes are most frequently served.
"In the same manner we have seen boiled po

article, the .day..after, under the direction of a
skillful MiStriss, appearing in snewv: balls of I

• ActrucuurttnaL editors frequently speak of the
"Farmers' leisure season." 1 hare not 'yet been
able to discover uny month of the year that
answers the description. It is not found in the
Spring, certainly not in the surnurr, still less in
the Antamn, and thus far I have found pten , y . to
do in the winter. The cattle and sit ep require
constant care. There is fodder to cut, corn to
grind, wood to draw, and a snore of little things
• that keep all the men on the firm con•tantly oc

would not marry a farmer, as she did not like
the idea of Laving Lim around the stove all win

- work out of doors, ho can find profitable em
ployment in the barn or tool-house.
