place is naturally a small rivulet, , but 'was
e much swollen by heavy rains, acid the flood
of wood which passed down probably Choked
the culvert, converting tile embankment into
a darn, and the great weight of:water, with
the concession of. the crossing train, caused
the culvert to give•way, and the train to be
ihrewn from thi , track. There were about
50 persona on the train. Thirty•three
,one were taken. from the ruins dead, and fir
ty or sixty others wounded. The train was
running between ten and twenty miles an
