Greene Co., N. Y., and son of the late Daniel Sayre.
Carefully trained by religious parents, he was led
early iii life to indtqe a 'hope of salvation through
the atoning blond of Oil iSt. 141 May of I SIT, he
united,bv letter, with the then Congregational Chufch

thirty-five years. The last few years of his life - were
spent in much bodily suffering. A discas, which

fested in the prospfwity of the Church, his associates
a ill never forget. !Strenuous was he in the mainte•
nance• of what he deemed to be the truth ; faithful in
the observance of the Sabbath, anti as faithful in the

Pained at the cUndition of an ungodly world around

with the Church triumphant, where a perfect, sinless
service is that of k.very worshipper. .
Never led to refinquish his hori'e in Christ; there
was, ifevettheless; during a portion of his last pro
tracted illness a cloud upon his spirit which checked
the expression of{ perfect confidence. But as the

ordained by the authority of the same,—
That all ordinances, heretofore ordained, by the
Burgess.and Town Council °Late Borough of Mont
r4e, authorizing the making of side-walks in said
Borough, at the total or partial expense of said Bor
ough, be and thc.same arc hereby repealed, and that
liereafter the expense, partial or total, of making
such side-walks, shall in no case he paid br said Bor
ough, unless said side-walks shall in each instance
bare been constructed by the specinl authority of the
Town Council, and under the direction of the Street
Commissioners. •
Provided, that this 'ordinance shall not apply to
cases where aide-walks are already completed,GOr are
