Word or Taunt. The followine
which we copy from one of our ex
change contains nothing b it truth ;
' Parent ought to prohibit their chil
dren from going unnecessarily to
railroad staiio is or loitering anywhere
along the track, and any disobedience
in inis respect ought to he promptly
punished ns often 11 it niiilit occur
until the habit shoti.d be thoroughly
broken up. kt itas parents cannot a I
way have their eyes oil their children,
they ought to give a ready assent to
the exercise by tho other of authority
ending to the preservation of their,
lives. X parent ought to permit his
child to lie abused, but if any c iild, iu
diaobedienco of the parent' command
ehould go to a dangerous place, the
parent ought to thank any railroad
employee or borough o'li.:er'for com
pelling it to go away, even if the birch
should bo used with mo leration to ef
fect this object. Such, indeed, is our
telicitude for the prevention of injury
to thoughtless bov and girl, that we
would ho much disposed to arm our
borough otlicers with suitable whips
and give them full authority to make
such use of them ns might be necessa
ry lo clear our railroad station of all
youthful loiterer about them.
Anour Tackiso Caritt. Some one
