Chief of the Department, paraded to
the railroad and awaited the arrival of

Owing to the fatigue caused by
the long car ride, the Uovernor did not

which was in waitinp, but acted the

rated their houses and place of busi
nets with flags, mottoes, pictures, Ac,

Prof. Born otlered a very feeling and
impressive praver after which the Mid
dleburg Band favored the assemblage
with music

The Governor held hi audience spell
bound by his eloquent and patriotic, o
ration. It has never been our good
fortune to listen to a more able or iiu-
frsive address. Prom the first In tlie

ism, showing that the speaker's heart
throbbed in unison with the uoble sen
timents which he uttered.
Immediately after th address,
' Messrs. William and Philip Mover and
- Wm. E. Houtx, by special request fa
vored lis with a patriotio air entitled
"An Hundred Year Ago," which was
. rendered in their usual aicellent style.
Dr. Ziegler next followed in a brief
but highly interesting address, full of
' fervor and patriotism.
The procession was then formed and
proceeded to ia 2nd New Lutheran
Cemetery wher several appropriate
piece were sung and after very brief
but appropriate remark by Eer. Shan-
' non, the grave of the fallen heroes
were stewn with the rarest and choi
cest flower of spring, after which the
column moved to the Methodist Ceine
tery, were an appropriate piece was
. sung aud an impressive address deliv-
' ered by Rev. Swart, from whenoe the
, procession moved to the 1st Lutheran
Cemetery where the children sung a
bymn especially prepared for the oc

moved to the Hall, where the children
were dismissed and the societies march

In the evening the ex-soldiera went
