Friday morning August 22. 1873. This morning the place Is alive with people arranging for the comfort and convenlcnco of themselves and friends. The day being favorable everything was pleasantly arranged at 8.16 P. M., the people were Tor the first time called together tor public wor ship, Rev. O. A. Colestock preached from Jere mlah 822. The sermon was pointed. Followed by. J. Erb. Saturday morning Is quite lovely and every per son seems 'cheerful. At 7.30 A. M. the tent holders were called togetlier to determine on rules by which to govern the camp meeting. At 8.30 A.M., the congregation was Munitioned to the altar for praver und experience meeting. After somefer- vent prayers were olfcred up in behalf of Zion and the success of the camp-meeting, many partici pated in speaking for Jems. The hour for preach ing having arrived, ex-Bishop Erb, preached a pointed, practical and Instructive sermon from Psalm 6618, followed by Kev. J. H. Young, with elose exhortation at 1 30 r. M. Quarterly confer, enoe convened at 2.30 P. M., Rev. O. Warner, lit the Virginia conference preached an elegant sermon from John 1720 and 21, followed by Rev. T. Huston, with a brief exhortation. At 6.30 1'. M., we gathered In the altar for pray, er and experience meeting. During the speaking exercise, God blessed his people and made them happy in the love of Jesus, ( Friends it Is good to speak for Jesus). At 7.30 P. M. Rev. .7. II. Young, preached ft stirring sermon from Luke 2417, followed by Kev. A. l.aokev, who Invited sinners to thealtar to be prayed for. One came forward and found peace by believing in Jesus. Sabbath morning favors us with a bright sky, a glowing sun, and a bracing breeze. God thus blessing us with the smiles of nature.
