Two others are not expected to recover. jy Wmi Dennis, was arrested recently in New York, for forcibly abducting, chlo roforming and otherwise abusing a young school girl. Investigation showed that in picking up something that lay upon the iron bead of the hammer, the tong of the mouse had frozen to it, and being unable to get away, it had died. tW The Supreme Court of Massachusetts has finally decided that suicido is not a crime known to tho laws of the Common, wealth. This opinion is given in tho case of The State vs. Dennis. Persons wishing to commit suicide will of course govern themselves accordingly, and need have no fear of the law. 1ST On Sunday evening last, at Atlantic city a large bloodhound, kept in the stable of Mr. Charles H. Rogers, of the Alaska hotel, was kicked by ono of the horses. The dog turned upon tho horse, killed him and then proceeded lcisnrly to cat him un. In the morning thegj was very littlo left of the horso, and tho dog had to be shot. t2TMr. Samuel Gordon, of Tuftonbor ough, n. II., found a flno two-year old colt dead in the pasture, and supposed that some natural cause brought its life to an end. His wife dreamed that she saw a man shoot it, but the husbaud pooh-poohed the idea as the result of indigestion. The wifo finally had to bo satisfied by having tho animal examined, and it really proved that some one had shot it. Dr. C. J. Smith, of I'liiliidilnl, was burned to death on Sunday night about l o ciock ut a hotel at Mount Carbon where he had gono on Saturday. Whilo they were looking at them, a man opened the door and grabbed the tray and placed it un der his coat and made his estaixj though closely pursued for several blocks, In his haste he dropped about $000 worth on the floor, but secured over $1,000 by his daring attempt.
