up in a general fight ; but while on the

after beiug severely beaten, his spoils

ia, there is a spring strongly impregnated
with arsenic. For some years past its
owner has been compelled to keen a fence
around it, to prevent the cattlo from
drinking the water, and thereby poison
ing themselves.

JQT A sehool-giil in Fcrnandina, Fla.,
a few nights ago, turned down the wick
of her kerosene lamp, and as it continued
to smoke shu placed a book on tho tup of
the chimney. In a moment a fearful ex
plosion toot place, which set fire to her
dress, to the curtains, and to tho adjacent
wood-work, and sho was fatally burned
dying the next morning.
