In Dean Alford’s new New Testament, just
published in London, the well-known passage,
Acts xxvi. thou persuaded me to
be a Christian,” is. rendered,. “Then Agrippa
said unto Paul, Lightly thou art persuading

Barnurn is to continue liis autobiography. So
much was anticipated from the fust- part of this
work, printed some years ago, that J. S. Bed
field, of New York, its publisher, went to the
expense of: having :it translated into and
printed in German, I 'but lost considerably
thereby. Some months later, Hr.: Barnurn
failed fora targe amount, having become in
volved in the losses of a clock manufactory in
New England. He pulled through all. his difli
—culties, and, haviiig been-obliged-to sell-liis
museum in 1855 (the lease of the building
being his wife’s property, she investing its pro
ceeds in disembarrassing, him), finally repur
chased the concern, anil came into possession. a
freed man, in March, ISOO. 11c retained it, for

perity, until it was destroyed by fire, and the

erected on its site. The museum was removed
“up town,” and, soon after, Hr. Barnurn
