UNIVERSAL LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY.-
The advertisement of the Universal Life In
surance Company of New York appears in
our present issue.
The following notice of this company ap
peared in'a recent number of the Insurance
Monitor, a high and reliable authmity in such
matters:
"The Universals' the pioneer stock com
pany doing life insurance in the 'United States.
Among the peculiarities of their own company,
on winch thq - delight to dwell, are the fea
tures of their charter which provide for the
retention of the profits until the amount of
51,800,000 is reached, over and aboVe the pre
mitun reserve, thus providing a magnificent
and unparalleled basis of security to the
policy-holder.
"Thegenend liberality . with which this ,com
pany treats its policy-holders is most admirable,
giving to those`on the ten-year plan, after se
cond annual payment, a paid-up policy at any
time the insurer may choose to claim it after
abandonment, even though the delay should
largely exceed the time specified in the con
tract. The general motion of the business ap
peani satisfactory in a high degree, the ratio of
inerea in 12lliii over the previous year being
surpassed by only one other company, and the
amount of new business secured being more
than that of 16 older companies. The number
of policies already issued reaches beyond
t~s,an."
The ingenious and attractive, "Return Pre-
mium" plan of Life Insur.ince originated
with this company, and has gained it great
Topularity and added materially toits busmem.
Our esteemed fellow-townsman, Mr. G. G.
WeStcott, is agent for the UniVersal in this
city. His office is at N0:409 Chestnut street,
where every information respecting the Com
pany and its various methods of insurance may
be obtained.
