that committee.
The following resoltition was then offered

Adopted.
A resolution was adopted authorizing the
Trustees of certain property in the District of
Columbia, belonging to the Metropolitan
Presbyterian , Church of Washington, to sell
the same to private parties, for the sum of
$30,000. .
• , AFTERNOON SEssioN.—The Rev. Dr. Mus
grave presented the report• of a committee ape
pointed by the last General Assembly, to meet
other sinular committees, if they should be ap
pointed by the Philadelphia Union 'Conven
tion.

of Education, in connection with the Presby
. terian Assembly,stating the many benefits that
have accrued to the Church from the opera,
lions Of the Board, and suggesting that the
evening ofTuesday next be set apart as the cc
easion for the celebration of the semi-centen
nial anniversary of the Board, and that Rev.
Dr. McGill, Rev. Dr. Level Bedell and Rev.
Dr. McCosh be invited to address the assem

vention held in Philadelphia, November 6,

David It. Kerr and William Davidson, from
the General Assembly of the United Presby
terian Church; Rev. Dr. Zephaniah M. Hum
phrey, from the, General Assembly of the
.Presbyterian Church (New Schoid); the Rev;
' Dr. George- W. Musgrave; Alex. J. McGill
and II oir.Rohert :NI (A night, from the General
Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (Old
School.)
It was unanimously resolved that union
among the different denominations repre
sented is very desirable if the way, be clear.
wail then Ordered that the biiisis agreed upon
by the Philadelphia Convention above-men
tioned, be taken as a guide for tlfe delibera
tions of this Conference.
Being altered and amended in several par
ticulars, it was unanimously adopted in the
following form viz.: Article 2. Old and
New Testament ,
are acknowledged
to be the only infallible rule of faith and
practice.
Article Second. The Westminster Conies
' sion, as the same has been modified by the
churches here represented, in its doctrines con
cerning the powers of the civil magistrate, to
gether with the larger and shorter catechisms,
shall be received and adopted as containing
the syStem of .doctrine' taught in the Holy
licriptnres..
Article Third. The :•Unitedelinteh shall re
.geive - and adopt , - tare l'resbyterian form of'
. church government.
Article Fourth. (1.) It IS the, will of God that
the Book of l'salms should be used by His
Church in His worship, to the end of the world.
And the united body shall at the earliest prae
licable dayprepare as faithful and acceptable
a version of those Psalms as may be for use in
the churches. (2.) Any of the churches demoting
to use the Psalms exclusively in the service of
long standing, sledl always have the right un
challenged to do so.

The expenses of the first-named Committee
were $149,675; receipts, $162,420 . 82 •

The expenses of the Committee on Education
Were $24,654 92: receipts; $26,569 79. The Pub
lication Committee's expenses were $65,387 10;

The Trustees of the Church Erection Fund
reported $54,996 received during 1866-7; con
tributed by 329 churches. 59 churches re
ceived regular, and 20 special aid, the former
amounts averaging $475, or $2OO less than the
previous year. Z. churches gave $5OO or more
each.

Company on the 30th day of Mull, 1369, will be entitled
to subscribe for 20 Per Cent, of their respective interests
in New Stock at Par, as follows:

tween the 16th day of May, 1309, and the 30th day of Juno,

Second—Fifty per cent. between the 15th day of Novem
