Tfflt Newsboys' Home.— An Association has been organized in this city daring the past month) for the purpose of providing a place of shelter for the homeless boys who nightly throng oar streets. A home of this character was or ganized it few years ago, bnt it has been merged In another Institution: and there is now no Home, in all this great city, for the lriendless boys who room its streets, seeking means of subsist ence in various sorts or street traffic and em ployment Most Of these boys are mterly friend less, being either orphans, or worse, the children ofdrnnken parents who have thrust them out to get a living as they can, exposed to every kind of hardship and temptation, and growing up al most inevitably into vicious and criminal men. Their evenings are generally spent in the gin shops and low theatres, or even worse resorts, and their nights, often in lamber yards or out buildings, or wherever they can find a little shel ter from the cold night air. The design is to provide an Institution for these young outcasts which shall offer them. rfoYouly food and shelter, bnt tbe attractions and interests of a home; and to furnish them with such Instruc tion as will tend to raise their aims, and stimulate their efforts to become sometblng better than they afe. It Is proposed to have regular teachers for evening schools, and to give the boys ench religious instructions as will interest, as well os - Inform them. The expenses 61 the institution will be par tially defrayed by such small payments for board and lodgings as the boys can afford to make ; but its support must, of course, depend mainly on contributions and subscriptions. A subscrip tion of three dollars, annually, constitutes any one a member of the association, and the pay ment of twenty-five dollars a life member. Larger donations are, of course, much needed now, and •will be additionally useful If promptly given.
