Am-AtiorirD Warms. Last evening Mary
Holt, alias Baltimore Moll, accompanied by a
woman called Flora, went into a restaurant on
Ninth, above Spruce. While there Sallie Bernard
and Margaret Seymour entered the place. The
parties had previously had a quarrel, and words
enifued. Margaret Seymour, it is said, picked up
spittoon and attempted to strike Mary Holt
with it. The proprietor of the saloon then
turned all the parties out. Upon getting into
the street, it is alleged Mary Holt drew a dirk
knife and attacked Manzaret Seymour. The lat
ter was cut in the neck, breast and side. She
was seriously wounded; and was conveyed to the
Hospital. Sallie Bernatd,- her companion, vas
cut over the eye, but her injury is not severe.
Mary Holt was arrest; d sometime afterwards.
This morning she bad a bearing before Alderman
Swift, and as the life of the wounded woman is
considered in danger, she was committed with
out bail, to await the result of the injuries.
CHARGRD wrrn — Ronnuter,:-Yesterday after
noon Daniel Harvey, residing at N 0.7 Buist court,
was caught in the act of robbing the money
drawer of Buchanan's tavern, oh Fifteenth street
below South. Mr. Buchanan found $8 50 of
stolen money in the pocket -of_Harvey— _There
was also found upon his person a flue gold chain,
which was identified by Mr. H. Kilpatrick, re
siding on Sixteenth street above South. It seems
that a brother of Mr. Kirkpatrick died, and Har
vey sat up us one of the "watchers." Two of the
latter got asleep, and while the third was tempo
rarily absent from the room, Harvey slipped up
stairs and took the chain and a watch valued -at
$llO from the pocket of Mr. H. Kilpatrick, who
was Mug upon a lounge. In the station-house
he acknowledged the theft to Lieut. Connelly,
and said that the watch was hidden under some
shavings in a carpenter shop back of his resi
dence, where it was found. Harvey was com
mitted in default of $1,500 bail by Alder Man
Morrow.
I"nonArtLE ROMICIDE.—A young man named
James Slay, residing at No. 182 Elfreth's alley,
was arrested yesterday by the Seventh District
Police upon the charge of assault and battery
with intent to kill. It seems that on Thursday
night a disturbance occurred in a lager beer sa
loon on Julianne street, near Callowhill. Daring
the wrangle, a German named Fred Reed was
stabbed and was so badly injured that his life is
despaired of. He resides at Sixth and Wood
streets. Slay is alleged to have been engaged in
the fight, but the stabbing, it is charged, was
done by another man who has not yet been ar
rested. Slay was taken before Alderman Toland
and was committed for a further hearing.
FLORAL TRIVITTE TO Miss Kicmooo.—Last
night at Concert Hall the friends of Miss Clara
Louisa Kellogg fairly overwhelmed her with
flowers, In baskets. bouqets and bunches. It is
doubtlul if any artist has ever been complimented
in this city with such a profusion of magnificent
flowers, and Miss Kellogg can congratulate her
self fairly upon baying found so many warm and
generous friends and admirers among our peo
ple. Neither in New York nor Boston was she
so much flattered.
TILL TAPPING.—John Hagen and John Wil
liams were arrested yesterday at Thirteenth and
Lombard streets for fighting in the streets. It
was subsequently ascertained that Hagen had en
tered the liquor store of Louis Vester, N. E. cor
ner of Twelfth and Lombard streets, and robbed
the money-drawer. He was observed by Mrs.
Vester leaving the premises as Ehe was returning
from market. Hagen will hate a hearing at the
Central station.
BEAT A WOMAN.—Edward McMullin was ar
rested yesterday by Policeman Blee, of the Fifth
District, _on the charge of assault and battery.
It is alleged that be entered a cigar store on
Twentieth street, below Spruce, and after;beating
the woman who was attending the store, amused
himself by breaking the windows. McMullin was
taken before Alderman Patchell, and was held in
$6OO bail to answer.
SHEEP firmtuzio.-.--Two youths, named Thee.
Moore and Dennis Lanahan, were arrested yes
terday upon the charge of having been con
cerned in the larceny of fifty sheep, in the
Twenty-fourth Ward, several days ago. They
were committed for a further hearing by Alder
man Mardi.
THE CHEITHUT ST. TuseernE—On Monday evening
next, the Cbettnnt St. Theatre. will begin a /revel at
traction In the shape of a firs:-c'Ets4 cirens perform

some manner for the purpose, and a company will sp

have ever had in this city before. Mr. Sion, the Man
'ager of the Theatre, has engaged the moat ticcom
pihhed members of four (tiff Irent compauiee, at an
.ettnrmus expense, and cacti individual will appear
nightly in some one act which is a speciality. Per
haps the greatest attraction to those who are partial
to equestrian performers will he Mr. James Robinson,
-who is celebra , ed all the worla over for hie feats upon
horseback, und who is always certain to attract crowded
houses. In addition, Mr. slim] announce the Levan
thiC Brothels, who, as gymnasts and abrobals, fire
said to r xcel the famone Hanlon Brothers In every re
spect. Mr efeo. Wambold will appear nightly with a
troop of performing doge and monkeys. and there
will be a mullitude of other acrobats, ridars and
hene/al Auxiliary artists, with a splendid stud of
orses and ponies. Mr. Sinn announces that. It is his
into: Winn to make this entertainment unexceptionable
in every respect. Notting will be said or done to al
rend the most fastidious and moral. The performan".es
will be of such a character that they.can be vi.ired by
all. There will be—in short=a circus of the very
highest. class, and there is every reason to believe that
t le enterprise will be a erect sn recce.
A NOBLE Cmtam.--The Philadelphia Ortho
ptedic Hoepital, for the care of clu , .-foot, curvature of
spine, and all other contractions and deformities, tem
porarily situated at No. 15 South Ninth street, oppo
site the Universicv of Pennsylvania, has just ended its
first year of usefulness. A large number of del , rmed
persons have been cured or under treatment, many of
which deformities were of a most agirray.tted charac
ter. In 1840, under almost precisely the same circum
stances, was the Royal Orthopielic Hospital of
London started, and now treats over 2,000 cases
annually, end 40,0110 have been under treatment since
its orgat ization. - The•iltto kite!? of Loudon show over
90.000 deformed persons in that city alone, which,
iudging us at the same rate, would give over 25,001
